A-league attendances

To a lesser extent than that poor bloke, but Jets members being kicked out of their seats at the Victory grand final, was the beginning of the end for me as a member. That was FA, don't know if they still do it, but what a stupid decision
Why would you leave jets for a something FA did?

As Pat said, you still get kicked out of you members seat to make way for VIPs, I'm not willing to pay for a membership and be treated like a casual, but that's just me. Remember the loyalty you spoke of

I feel like epl are greedy but a league is more stupid then greedy like they wouldn't even think how it effects members like yourself

apl not greedy ? mate obviously they are why do you think they wanted to control their own instead of staying in the FA.

So you DON'T care if they win lose or draw, OR if they are successful off the pitch? Why bother with a club at all when you can just follow the junior state rep teams during tournaments?
I do care about results, its not binary. Its about emotional attachment and results

if I just wanted a team that win a lot I'd glory hunt some team in a league that they win all the time. But who cares, no emotional attachment.

I sat in my members seat for the semi final, what's the difference. I'm glad you asked, I'll tell you, the semi final was run by the club, I paid for the seat. The grand final was run by the dickheads at FFA

A different look at the averages. Below are the averages of the 10 oldest surviving A-League clubs played between each other, i.e. excluding matches against later expansion clubs, for consistency.

Wellington and Wanderers in line for their worst ever season.

And the top 10 fixtures between them by average attendance:

Long term looks like a decline. I did a 5 year rolling average excluding covid years which made a smooth downward trend

Irrelevant, season averages are what they are, no matter who is in the league.
i dont think i agree

If you cut the weakest 4 weakest teams and just had a 14 week season the average goes up, is that progress?
Alternatively if you had 6 more teams and averages barely dropped that would be progress

I think the long term trend on individual clubs gives complimentary information to the total average on whats growing or shrinking and how much

let's have a look how we got here

We are currently at 8,346 for this season. Season 23/24 was 8,076. Both excluding finals games, of course.
We were talking about the 10 club average, which excludes Western United, Macarthur and Auckland.

Currently down 43% from the peak, down 26% from the median. And about 900 people per match lower than the first COVID affected season. Dire stuff.

That is not how average attendances work. Do the EPL do this if Luton, Wrexham or Wigan come up and MUFC, LFC & AFC get relegated.

Fudging figures only ends you up in a mess of lies.

Again, fudging figures. We have 12 teams and that is how you gauge it.
