South Australia 2-138 in their second innings against Victoria at lunch on day four of their Shield clash, which will be a preview of the final at the same venue, and currently lead by 135 runs with eight wickets in hand in reply to their 308 all out.

Big win to Tas against Queensland.

The last day of the Shield season, today, was probably the only day Tas seemed decisively on top for the entire season at home!

Webster took 4 wickets. He bowled medium pace and finger spin. The pitch took spin too - which needs to happen in all games. Kuhnemann bowled tightly and took 4 match wickets. He created a lot of pressure.

Was impressed with Neser and Bartlett's batting resistance - under scoreboard pressure.

I think Tas won by about 140 runs.

Tas finished 4th - I think?

I was told today the win took Tas past NSW on the ladder.

Vic hammered Tas in the last game and should beat SA in the final. They are the best visiting team to play at Bellerive this season.

Victoria only managing a draw in their last Shield game against South Australia before the final, with Henry Hunt adjudged best on ground after top-scoring in the South Australia first innings with 81 off 170 deliveries, including 12 fours.

Name me some SA youngsters that excite you. Left arm quick Campbell Thompson is one I have my eye on and I have heard some good things about young bat Jack Appleton.

Some New South ones for me. Charlie Anderson, Will Byrom, Kasey Barton, William Taylor, Isaac Earl, Ryan Gupta, (ball). Riley Kingsell, Nitesh Samuel, Patrick Tsi, Brock Fitton, Harjas Singh (bat) Joel Davies, Addison Sheriff (a/r). Ryan Hicks (w/k). You will find these guys profiles on Play Cricket site.
Impressed with Charlie Anderson ( looks to be a very impressive pace prospect) and Riley Kingsell, Richie!

Hicks is a decent keeper too.

The Tasmania and Queensland players had to leave the field during a 25-minute delay as evacuation sirens sounded around Bellerive Oval.

Comms said they saw firies in the Ricky Ponting stand. But NO smoke.
True.

We were evacuated.

I think with South Australia managing to hold Victoria to a draw going into the Shield final it shows that both teams are on par with each other, and selectors should start to think about giving Henry Hunt an international callup for Test cricket in the future.
Like many players, Henry Hunt goes in and out of form. Notwithstanding he has played some good Shield knocks at Bellerive.

Weatherald has just scored some tough runs on a pitch giving plenty of assistance to bowlers. He has the technical glitch at Test level quality bowlers though.

Objectively, SA and Vic have been the toughest teams to play for Tas at Bellerive this season. I've seen all 5 visiting teams play too.

One huge weakness for SA has been spin. Manenti, isn't good enough, but he can bat. Sadly, prodigious spinning SA wristy, Lloyd Pope, now bowls darts in white ball cricket. He turned the ball similarly to Warne or MacGill, devoid of their control a few years back.

I agree too. I've always been of the belief that privatising the BBL franchises would be a mistake.
Pretty much everything that ends up Privatised goes to poop barring the few exceptions.
If the clubs started taking on IPL monikers that's me out.
yep - part of what has contributed the overkill of cricket for me - its like 24/7.
Test cricket is where my main passion lies anyway.
Agree again - still luv Test cricket (Ashs da best from our side of the fence) trouble is the younger gens want all this quick fix type of product today.
Hence BB etcetc.
I marvelled at the first step of OD Packer cricket - 50overs - obvioulsy was dam exciting/new and look at th eplayers brought in, icons legends of the game, the colour finally etc.
I used to be at the SCG watching frigging Viv Richards belt the be jesus out of us, his fielding skills.
Llyods heavy bat smoking.
Ambrose/Garner/Roberts etc
Seeing our Legends playing against them was epic stuff.
Last 20yrs its all gone too OTT and a show - not for me I don't watch any of it anymore.
Tests and the WC's thats it nowadays.

The other thing that's spoiled it for me is we don't play the weaker nations anymore.

Playing India every 5 minutes is batshit boring.
