Holly Caspers' season is over after Western Sydney Wanderers confirmed she sustained an ACL injury in the first half of their 3-2 A-League Women matchday 15 win over Sydney FC. She's the second player confirmed to have sustained this injury in the past week after Brisbane Roar confirmed Sharn Freier sustained an ACL injury earlier in the week.

Updated injury list for Matildas and A-League Women players as of mid-March 2026 is as follows:

Player/Club/Injury/Return to play timeframe
  • Indiana Dos Santos, Sydney FC, ACL, unknown
  • Grace Kuilamu, Brisbane Roar, ACL, season over
  • Sharn Freier, Brisbane Roar, ACL, season over
  • Sarah Hunter, Sydney FC, broken collarbone, end-March through April (six weeks from A-League Women matchday 15)
  • Holly Caspers, Western Sydney Wanderers, ACL, season over
Recent returns from injury:
  • Charli Grant returned to the matchday squad for Spurs Sunday local time in their 2-1 WSL loss to Everton, but was an unused substitute.
  • Tameka Yallop returned to play Saturday in Brisbane Roar's 3-0 ALW matchday 19 loss to Wellington Phoenix.
  • Leah Davidson returned to play February 15th in the scoreless Melbourne Derby return leg at Home of the Matildas.
As always, if I've missed anyone out or got any details incorrect, please let me know and I'll update the lists accordingly. Expected return to play timeframe follows the same criteria as the previous updates to the injury list.

Surely Indi dos Santos is close to coming back. She’s been training with the rest of the team. Hopefully she can save our season. Need to beat the Wahinix to have any shot of finals.

Indiana Dos Santos should be close to making her return from injury for Sydney FC if she's in full training but unfortunately if she's still listed as unavailable on the ins and outs then she'll remain on the injured list until the next update.

Clare Hunt is set to undergo surgery on her right knee after sustaining an injury playing for the Matildas during the Women's Asian Cup, and will commence rehabilitation upon the conclusion of the procedure. It's not known how long she'll be out for but she could likely be ruled out for the remainder of season 2025-26, in addition to the April international window.

Indi posted another update on Insta. She’s doing normal gym stuff and will be definitely back next season.
