I was sitting at home, it seemed a few mins after the rain stopped after it had rained all day and a mate at the ground said play had started. Reduced to a 22 over innings per team.

Dashed around to the ground immediately, about 6 pm, and play finished at 10 pmish, in the end with good condtions.

Kurtis Patterson's parents sat near us in Tas Members area. We also had some Manchester guys who are members fo Lanchashire Cricket Members. Very interesting chats.

Surrey County Club average nearly 10 000 spectators per red ball game ATM. MIddlesex ( Lords) average 4 - 5 000! Why do so few watch Shield in Aus, yet turn out en masse for Test cricket?

Tas batted badly. NSW and Tas bowled well. NSW batted better and won. Patto batted well enough to win the game on a lively track that had sweated under covers.

Can't get over Shaun Abbott's grunt as he delivers. Each ball takes so much out of him. It is why his efficacy reduces rapidly as the innings progresses in red ball cricket.

Meredith bowled some fast stuff, but we didn't have access to the speed gun. Ward batted well for Tas.

Congrats to NSW for winning the One Day title. I feel lucky we got any cricket at all. You would have loved it if you attended live, Richie!

I reckon we've signed the Manchester blokes up as Tas Cricket Members - they loved the value for money!

If one is keen enough on T20, subscribing to Prime for a month is worth it.

I was only interested enough to watch Aus games.

I like the internationalism of T20 WCs and the fact that minnows are competitive. We are seeing a boom in cricket globally, because of the Indian diaspora.

I don't like T20 franchise cricket though.

Yeh Sharkie I was a touch. But Tassie has been my top team for past two yrs after I left the Blues as a protest over its poor selection policy. Now with a new crop of pathway kids coming thru I am again excited for the future of cricket in my home state.

DC just as well I did not subscribe for that month as the Aussies had a shocker and watching their progress hopefully all the way to the final was the only reason I'd have done so.

Name me some SA youngsters that excite you. Left arm quick Campbell Thompson is one I have my eye on and I have heard some good things about young bat Jack Appleton.

Some New South ones for me. Charlie Anderson, Will Byrom, Kasey Barton, William Taylor, Isaac Earl, Ryan Gupta, (ball). Riley Kingsell, Nitesh Samuel, Patrick Tsi, Brock Fitton, Harjas Singh (bat) Joel Davies, Addison Sheriff (a/r). Ryan Hicks (w/k). You will find these guys profiles on Play Cricket site.

Bellerive pitches are usually not that easy to bat on Jon, but this season they seem to be presenting an even greater challenge.

Weatherald 60 plus, Silk 80 plus , Doran 70plus, Kuhnemann 50 plus.

Neil- Smith, bowling quicker, took 4 or 5 wickets. He seems to have gained a metre of pace. Kuhnemann 3-14 off 10.

Swepson 3-50ish off 26.

This wicket is spinning.

Yes it was. This digging deep attitude was needed earlier when a finals spot was within reach. I agree re Neil-Smith, he does look a metre quicker yet has not lost any of his smothering accuracy. Give him a full '27 season if injury free.

The Tasmania and Queensland players had to leave the field during a 25-minute delay as evacuation sirens sounded around Bellerive Oval.

Comms said they saw firies in the Ricky Ponting stand. But NO smoke.
