You could say that Guus was happy 😁
That moment means a lot to many people, and the world to me for a few reasons.
 
For many years there used to be a video on YouTube, set to Coldplay’s “Fix You” that went through the Socceroos numerous heartbreaking qualification failures, then Aloisi’s goal, then the Japan game, with the song peaking at juuuuuust the perfect moment with Cahill’s goals and Simon’s epic commentary. Honestly brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.

Anyway, I haven’t been able to find it for ages and think it’s been taken down.

If anyone knows this video and can link me to it, I’d be eternally grateful.

They've generally been of good length except for the early days when it was so unclear what was happening with Triantis. The silence around then was hard but now we get a lot of insight into the thought process.

I think there was nothing post Bahrain away and we were teetering.
 
Metcalf looks better on replay, a lot of our positive progressive moments through midfield start with him

O'Niell pretty dour on replay
 
one thing i was critical of with metcalf was how rarely he tried to receive the ball on the half turn despite having space to do it. He actually does so for the first time at the 45th minute despite being tightly marked. Suspect not playing at cm much means he was a bit of conservative

I wouldn't say so as the USA has gone further at a world cup, won many Gold Cups and also some Olympic medals which are more historical.

I thought they won gold but I've mixed that up with beating England at the 1950 world cup.

Fair but we’ve had better players though. Tim Cahill over Tim Howard.

I can appreciate Howard but still don't get the pedestal he gets put on.

I actually found Keller to be a poor keeper while Friedel worked more solidly. Then there's Brad Guzan...
