What worries me is the Kurds being sent in AND the possibility of another influx of weaponised migrants by Turkey... Things are looking dicey.

Yes. The Kurds might be motivated and good at operating in these challenging terrains, but facing the overwhelming conventional power of the IRGC might mean they're on a hiding to nothing.....

American hardware or no American hardware!

Just another chapter in the sunni v shia saga that will likely remain unfixable!

Majority of the Kurds are ex PKK Marxists so theoretically atheist but, yea its gonna be a shit sandwich.

It's clear Iran will not give up, or get a yank puppet in...so what's the out? years of death and destruction.

The yanks already told us they had destroyed their nuclear capability, so what's the goal then to stop the bombing? Once Bibi gets a pardon?

It's clear there will not be a peaceful transition to some democratic government. Bomb the shit out of them and create millions more refugees?

It all seems pointless

You can't get through to these religious lunatics sorry I mean theocracy, through diplomacy, Obama tried that and despite a little give and take it never really was going to work.....

Bombing the shit out of them might look good in the short term but will create huge problems down the track, including, as you say an influx of refugees onto other Middle Eastern countries and then eventually Turkey and beyond....

A third way might be a move towards a secular democratic republic that separates mosque and state....

Maybe a system where religious scholars remain influential in society but do not hold executive or judicial veto power.

But whatever it is it has to be a "solution" from within which would require the appointment of a "Supreme Leader" figure capable of limited reforms.....

Unlikely....

"It all seems pointless..."

Yep!

Bombing won't work, diplomacy won't work

But one thing I can tell you, there will be far more people dead at the end of this than there would've been from the 'threat'

Okay here's my 3 point plan to remake the middle east

Economic Interdependence: Moving beyond oil amd gas and towards a unified "Middle East Economic Community," modeled after the EU, to link trade, water, and energy infrastructure.

Inclusive Governance: Prioritising the "social contract" or ensuring youth employment, education, and women’s rights to drain the pool of radicalisation.

Diplomatic Autonomy: Replacing external intervention with a regional security framework where local powers manage their own conflicts.
Real change comes from within and has to be fueled by stability, innovation, and a shared prosperity.

So, when's the next meeting for the novel peace prize committee? 😛

They have tried Pan-Arabism, Pan-Islamism, shit some countries even recently let their women vote and drive....

The only thing thats gonna unite them all is a 170km long car free city in the desert :)

No wonder you don’t like immigrants, they speak better English than you 😂
See this is typical of political discourse right now, how do you know what immigrants I like or don't. Dutch and French are pretty trying though. Also check Quickys' English for mistakes while you're attempting to have a go. Greenys always hunt in packs, I get that, and it doesn't bother me in the least. Give it your best shot

Hopefully they leave the pagers at home this time...

Still living in the 90's over there.

I remember pagers being a thing in my early teens, lol.

No, they were actually told by senior tech communications people in Holland that their regular mobile phones were easily hacked by Mossad, but pagers were unhackable and therefore Mossad would be unable to listen in....

But those senior communication tech people were undercover Mossad operatives.

They then sold them a load of pagers with built in explosives....
