It’s clear there is no long term plan here.

It appears the trump admin have been a little off guard based on the response.

It’s on track to only get worse.

If I was a Kurd I wouldn’t be sticking my neck out.

My issue is I don't think theres a lot of thought that has gone into the what next.

History shows that when you try to force this change, when the objectives are broad and unclearly defined, when the government has been stable (in Irans brutal way) and when you aren't committed to long term stabilisation efforts (assuming this to be true) then it doesn't often work. Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya are examples of this.

There's going to be a power vacuum and that's likely to get filled by the same regime or it's throwing a dart. Who knows what happens.

My concern is what this means for Australia. What happens to rules based order. China just got a big boost in their aspirations for Taiwan. Where does this all lead? We're sitting on a lot of attractive resources here.

We probably need to start re-thinking how we defend ourselves.

I know it's fashionable to hate on Trump and the US, Netanyahu, Israel and of course all the baddie Jews who control the world....

I totally get that....

I'm not particularly keen on Trump or Netanyahu myself. Both lunatic asylum material....

But I think deep down, despite their being not much of a plan in place for the replacement of these religious freaks masquerading as an Iranian regime, there's a lot of people in the Middle East as happy as fark that the 'Supreme Leader' has been assassinated and large swathes the Iranian military is in freefall.

The UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria and even probably Qatar

Unfortunately the world will always need a policeman and Iran have been very naughty with not much in the way of punishment coming their way....
