Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

Anyone know wtf this is about?

We also remind all supporters to represent South with pride. Be loud and passionate, but respect the venue, officials, opposition and those around you. We want the focus to be on our football and our support in the right way and continue to lead the way in this space.

I didnt see anyone kick off too much, in fact I got an email from OFC yesterday, a personal one not AI, apologising for the delay offering a full refund or free entry for tonight, when I said I was coming anyway he emailed me a ticket ." very classy.

Looks like significant rainfall will hit the northern suburbs again this afternoon and into the match, storm/lightning possible around 5ish. Would piss myself if a huge downpour kills off another game.

I’m telling you, they need to cancel these postponed matches. EVERYONE makes the finals anyway!

To be honest, it would mean that we would play a full strength team against Altona Magic and possibly half to two-thirds strength against Solomon Islands midweek. I would have preferred tonight's match was called off rather than the Tuesday match against Tahiti.

Not true at all ... although you never know with Melbourne

I just type the suburb into google and see the hourly precipitation. Whilst everyone was telling me the northern suburbs was going to clear up on Tuesday that was telling me otherwise and was proven right. Although it does change frequently lol

Northern suburbs it rained between 3pm and 3.30 pm and then pretty much cleared up until well after 10pm... who would have known the FV's finest pitch in the state couldn't cope with a few drops?

Could be suburb specific but i was near Bundoora and it rained a lot more than that, on and off all day but the falls were heavy. It started well before 3 as the first game was meant to start at 3 and got pushed back before eventual postponement, you could see how much the water was sitting on the field. To think that junk hosted a grand final.

Home of the Matildas is clearly not fit for purpose with a drainage system that is leading to standing water on the pitch, but if it is the best Football Victoria have then it's not really a good look for us.
