Ai claims you need to be stretchered off for a grade 3 tear

His reaction looks grade too. Lets hope chatgtp knows what its talking about :D
Grade 3 would be muscle off the bone and surgery. I can't recall someone doing that to a groin, only a hamstring. It won't be grade 3.

It's much more likely to be a grade 1 or 2 strain which is usually in the 4-6 week recovery timeframe. It takes longer if there is a recurrence in recovery so hopefully the Norwich medical staff know what they're doing.

I think this is a bigger risk of impacting Toures form and momentum, than it is of actually ruling him out of the World Cup. Unless he retears it in recovery.

We can blame Fox sports for releasing a big article on Irankunda and Toure nearly around the same time the latter got hurt.

Lying down holding his groin is a rough image.

maybe it's a lack of depth....we just notice it more.

TBH, a year ago, actually six months ago even, this would not be such bad news.

What matters more: friendly matches against Curaçao and Cameroon, or having a fully healthy squad for the World Cup? The reality is that injuries are an inherent risk during the March international window and the intensive training camps leading up to the opening match. In this specific scenario, I believe less is more.

While building team cohesion and evaluating new talent is valuable in theory, the prospect of losing a key player just weeks before the tournament is terrifying. We have reached a critical threshold where any significant injury now would likely rule a player out of the World Cup entirely. If it were up to me, I would prioritise preservation over preparation and effectively 'bubble wrap' our starters until the first group game. Obviously, this isn't possible at club level but it's a nice thought.

Toure is one of the most injury-prone players I've ever witnessed, rarely does he outlast a 5-10 game spell before another injury.

You make a good point that it is who's out injured in June that matters, not who is out injured now. That said, it's hard to not be disappointed after him making such a phenomenal start to his career with Norwich. I guess the glass half full perspective is that for as long as he is out with a minor groin strain, he's not playing matches and risking doing an ACL or Achilles so maybe the odds of him being on the plane when it matters are actually improved!

I genuinely consider that. Him being out now and missing the march window and therefore club games, may be the reason he even makes the World Cup.
