Melbourne Victory women's head coach Jeff Hopkins has been named head coach of the A-League Women All Stars for their game against Chelsea in August, following current Matildas head coach Joe Montemurro in managing the representative side.

Laura Hughes is also making her return from injury for Melbourne City, but Melbourne Victory will be without Sienna Saveska for their match against Western Sydney Wanderers at Home of the Matildas after she sustained a foot injury. Brisbane Roar are without Angie Beard and Chloe Lincoln for their match against Wellington Phoenix, which is game two of a doubleheader at the Cake Tin as both are at the Women's Asian Cup, along with Melbourne City, Canberra United and Western Sydney Wanderers who are without Holly McNamara, Michelle Heyman, Janae DeFazio, Wang Ying and Yuan Cong respectively for the same reason.
