Big Ange thread

Lots of decent managers available with cashed up clubs. Was even wondering if Frank may fancy Leicester given his Brentford build up. I think Frank's sacking made Forest move quickly as Frank would probably be a good fit in Nottingham.

The best part of the interview is when he exposes Tottenham for what they really are, and its not a big club, even though they might say and think they are.

A lot of spurs fans are coming out and applauding Ange for this interview.
We are a big club, but he’s certainly right in that we don’t act like it in the transfer window.

What makes them a big club? Trophies? Fan base?

I think in football terms, big clubs need big wages so they can compete for trophies. Are Spurs Top 4-6 in wage spend in the EPL?

They are 6th in wages, although they are a long way behind 5th. Also if you look at their top earners in the league, Romero just sneaks into the top 30, so it shows they don't go out and buy star players as Ange suggested.

Why are UK media so harsh on him? How is he the worst spurs manager for the last 50 years when Frank did worse. Why do they forget his first season, and the injuries he had in his second season which lasted over 3 months.

There were also worse managers prior to Ange on any metric. We were a midtable club in the 1990s and early 2000s that built competition but not success. The Big Six became a thing in the 2010s to describe the six biggest clubs in terms of profit/revenue, fanbases (global and local), brands, history, etc. We were always the smallest of the Big Six.

been the norm for decades though.
I actually think you considered a BIG Club back in the 80's and prior that built up the image and backed up by consistancy on the park but its been few far between last 20yrs.
You should have got a trophy whilst Kane was in massive form through his tenure for the team was pretty sound and making the CL final lost to us :)
Since been too up and down near on a basket case and the only big club getting away with that is United the last 10yrs riding on the back of their successful past.
Real shame I do like Spurs, money, Levy knew moving to the new ground and facilities was ka ching but your form was way better back @ WHL.
Anyway they have a huge hole to dig their way out - will be interesting watching from the sidelines.
By the way I'd sooner see you guys knock off the arse coming up.
