Big Ange thread

My criticism of Ange is that he wasn't ruthless enough. I'm guessing here but my impression is he didn't really push for Richarlison and Sonny to go, particularly when there were big Saudi offers for both iirc. His squad needed an overhaul. His key to success at Celtic was mainly about the squad overhaul there, with deadwood going and bringing in the Japanese contingent.
but he had Levy to contend with hence the squad as it was.

We already are. West Ham almost won today and are in much better form than us. Only three teams have lost three of their last five Prem games: us, Newcastle (who just beat us) and Wolves.

We're actually only five points off West Ham who are 18th and three points off Forest who are 17th. We can just assume Burnley and Wolves are gone but the third relegation spot is between us, Brighton, Forest, Leeds, Palace and West Ham.
Spurs could win the Champions League and get relegated in the same season! A bit like the old joke of having mixed feelings watching your mother-in-law drive your brand new Mercedes over a cliff. lol

Yeah that very well could be true lol. That's called a Pyrrhic victory (named after Pyrrhus of Epirus), aka "winning the battle but losing the war" (or in this case, losing the battle but winning the war?).

Really interesting comparison of the table this year with how the teams finished last year. Only difference is Notts Forest replacing Man United. All others just about where they finished, ignoring the relegated and promoted teams. My guess is Spurs are where they should be, and yep, battling against the thoughts of relegation.

Spurs winning the Champions League is the "So you're telling me there's a chance..." line from Dumb & Dumber.

Don't see Spurs getting relegated either. I think they jag a couple of wins between now and end of the season to survive.

Frank will be on his way out the door though, tonight in fact. They need a bounce before NLD.

Personally I think he'll stay until we're knocked out of the Champions League. We're fucked for the NLD: the men's team haven't won one since 2022 and we're in our worst form ever. Yeah Man U hadn't beaten us since 2023 and they did this year, but that wasn't exactly an upset.

I feel for you mate, outside of Wolves and Burnley I don't think there is a poorer team in the league right now.

I think Thomas Frank getting the sack at Spurs could pave the way for Ange to get a second stint at the club unless the higher-ups want to go for a different tactical approach and a full coaching overhaul.
Would be interested to see how it goes with new players like Randal Kolo-Muani and Conor Gallagher.

Would be the dumbest decision of all time with all the injuries atm. Odobert just did his ACL too
Fair. I never saw it happening though to be fair, not for a while. Even with a new manager I really don’t expect us to improve. With the injuries and just overall lack of confidence in the squad I can't see anything but another disaster season. Nevertheless our squad is good enough to be getting results even if it isn't good enough for silverware.

Speaking with fans they still seem to be adamant for Xabi Alonso or Xavi (two different managers, both Basque though with similar names). Oh and there's shouts for Poch back too.
