Australian transfers 25-26 Winter

Apparently Bodo/Glimt impressed with Mark Natta and in their sights for a transfer at the end of the AL season. Would be a loss for the Jets but if they get good money for him is a part of the revenue model and vision that AL clubs should be pursuing.
According to Transfermarkt, Natta’s contract expires at the end of this season, so Jets won’t be entitled to any fee.

How do you let a contract run on a starting player? Don't get it unless his playing hardball with them but then you shouldn't be starting him
Hopeless. I guess that explains why they are waiting until the middle of their season to bring him over. A free hit for them, and if it doesn't work out no big loss. I have my doubts as to whether Bodo/Glimt is a good fit for Natta but I thought at least the Jets should collect a good fee.

If this comes off it is really showing how it is done

long term contract so you can't be shortchanged
early exposure to regular football so he is an experienced player by the time he is standing out in the league

Exactly. The clubs should be raking it in for the best talents and it'll balance the books nicely.

Wowza is that an a league record? That's a fair bit of coin going to Adelaide
Adelaide United need 2mil a year to cover their academy. Irankunda+kikianis alone must cover costs for at least 6 years right?

What I don't understand is A league costs though so its hard to know what this means for long term viability

We know they spend 2 million on academies
4.8 million on player budget
1 million on stadium hire
at least 200k on travel

but that only gets you to 8 mil a year. I've heard clubs claim they spend 18mil a year....

What were the ins and outs about the Balard and Silvera deals? I know many contracts expired but the Mariners should be sitting on a pile of gold. Are sell on clauses also possible to get 10% of any future sale?

Ridiculous to loan Farrell back to Australia. They couldn't find a League 1 club or German 3rd tier? It's a wasted 6 months when there are fewer matches on offer and he's too familiar with the league.

Daniel De Silva has moved to Olympic Kingsway ahead of NPL Western Australia season 2026 getting underway, returning to the club where he began his footballing career as a free agent after being delisted by Macarthur at the end of last season.

Goes to show again all that early hype and being put on a pedestal rarely leads to much.
