Sack Ante Jurić

I'd say there's a chance for Sydney FC to get Annalise Rasmussen and Sienna Saveska going into the April transfer window or next season as both of them fall out of contract at season's end, but Danella Butrus is out of contract at the end of next season and there is a possibility of Rasmussen in particular extending at Central Coast Mariners.
The next move for Annalise Rasmussen will be overseas and I doubt Sienna Saveska will move as she has only just signed for Melbourne Victory.

Dani Butrus is probably the best bet then. Good point about Anna Rasmussen though, probably also the same for Izzy Gomez. Sienna Saveska moves every season (Wanderers → Sydney → Wanderers → Victory) so I wouldn't rule her out.

Who else could we get? We need a striker and maybe some new midfielders to replace Macca Hawkesby and Sarah Hunter. Probably also a new winger to replace Milly Cassar. Bianca Galić needs some good form to keep her spot. I think Riley Tanner will stay.

Rhianna Pollicina maybe? Bente Jansen? Kennedy White? Peta Trimis? Aideen Keane? Sabitra Bhandari or Grace Kuilamu would be good but they're both injured and Sharn Freier won't go anywhere but overseas.

Libby Copus-Brown and Alana Jancevski would be good options to bolster midfield at Sydney FC as both are out of contract at season's end, but I doubt Samba will want to leave Wellington Phoenix and Sharn Freier is currently on loan at Brisbane Roar but may be open to moving elsewhere if playing overseas doesn't pan out well for her.

Obviously, from what I am reading here, Sydney FC aren’t interested in developing talent and would rather ‘steal’ other clubs talents. 😲

What about a return for Cortnee Vine? I understand she probably wants to play overseas and is still committed to NC Courage per her being at training and posting from there in the freezing cold but she hasn't been starting that often which could cost her the Asian Cup.

Keeping Laurie-Ann Moïse instead of having her go to bloody Ljuboten where she scored a hat-trick in her first game would've been good as well.

We're developing a shit ton of defensive talent but we haven't had many good attackers come through. Mark my words Willa Pearson will be captain of the Matildas one day and could even make the Olympics squad in two years time.

I look forward to seeing if your ‘dreams’ come true.😁

Cortnee Vine is under contract at North Carolina Courage through the conclusion of the 2027 Women's World Cup and likely won't want to return to a semi-professional league after having played overseas so I doubt she'll return to Sydney FC unless the league embraces full time professionalisation unfortunately.

Trust me I don't throw around comparisons like some people but she is like Ellie Carpenter. We need to all get behind her, she's obviously doing this as well as school so we should be grateful for everything she gives and encourage her to do well.

Pia Vlok just got a hat-trick. Maybe she could be our new striker?

Is he good? I want a good coach.

He is the Director of Football at Westfields Sports High School which have produced countless Matildas and Young Matildas. He was assistant to Leah Blayney in the U23 set up and also doing Future Matildas at VSP (not sure if he is now with the CCM gig). Considering what he had to rebuild at CCM in the space of about 8 weeks, he has done well. Girls are playing good football despite the limitations.

There would be a few girls at Sydney that are/ were at Westfields. Amelia Cassar, Claire Corbett, Rubi Sullivan, Indy Dos Santos and Alyse Oppedisano (off the top of my head).

There you go again suggesting FC should ‘steal players’ instead of developing their own. 🤓

He needs to work on the defence.

Of course we should get behind her as we should with all the players who are trying to balance work/study along with playing the game that they love.

Lol it takes a bit of time to develop players. What we really need is an NPLW team, the one thing Wanderers have and we lack.

When do the develop players? They don’t have an academy.
We have an academy but we don't have an NPLW team. I think we've opted for a Real Madrid-style approach to use a Spanish example (i.e recruit exciting talent we find) rather than a Barcelona-style approach (i.e developing players from an elite academy, having them progress to the first team then often selling them later on).

Personally I would like a mixture of both. We should develop AND recruit good talent.

She's quite nice too. My mum still can't believe she's 15 lol!

No wonder they’re bottom of the league.
Wanderers are bottom on goal difference. If you want my honest non-pissed off prediction I would say we end up finishing second or third last. Wanderers bleed out goals whereas we can't score except yesterday apparently.

Either way though even if we made finals I would still think Ante Jurić should be sacked. Getting one point from two derbies and going months without scoring cannot be good enough for the most successful club in the country.

What do Sydney actually do for youth development apart from the girls in the squad?
