FIFA 26

But what do you want to happen? Should the game crash if yenghi scores more then one goal 😂
Aberdeen fans: Yes!

There such an allure about coming in around November and taking and EFL team through the cold months. I just can't go from scratch and enjoy it. I like inheriting a squad then making my changes. Get this, the game feels better with Newport County than Barcelona. Still tweaking the tactics and noticing players generally follow but not always. Need to trigger runs.

I think you'll enjoy fm more but even that's gone down hill

I've never tried FM and for me it just goes too deep. I wish FIFA career more had a little more depth and management but the whole system is flawed.

It'd be cool to set prices for tickets and merchandise like on Madden.

I recommend starting w/one of the older games first(if you can find one; 2011 is my all-time fav) before moving on to the recent ones.

FIFA added something I've wanted for ages you can now play as classic teams. So Liverpool's best ever 11 vs seria a 11 etc

They could one-up ProEvo/eFootball further and introduce confederational All-Star squads as well as Classic national-teams; in saying that though all I really want is more licensed leagues/current national-teams etc.

For anyone with PC - this shits all over FIFA.

It's a modded update to PES 2021, with the 2025/26 season.

LEAGUES
(continued from original PES 2021, but updated to 2025/26 season)
  • Belgian League
  • Danish league
  • English Premier League and Championship
  • French Ligue 1 and 2
  • Italian Serie A and B
  • Dutch Eredivisie
  • Portugal League
  • Russian League
  • Scottish League
  • Spanish La Liga and La Liga 2
  • Turkish League
  • Argentina League
  • Brazil Serie A and Serie B
  • Chilean League
  • Colombian League
  • Chinese Super League
  • AFC Champions League (not counting any Chinese, Saudi, Japanese clubs)
Additional leagues not in PES 2021, or using the “generic” made up league spots:
  • Greek League
  • German Bundesliga
  • MLS (but only 20 teams)
  • Saudi Pro League
  • Japan J1 League
  • 36 Other European Clubs
  • 24 Other South American / Mexican Clubs
  • 8 Other Asian Clubs (but I can see at least 2 African clubs in there)
And then for national teams:
Original game | New Mod | Total in confederation
UEFA
55 | 55 | 55

Africa
14 | 28 | 54

Asia + New Zealand
39 | 17 | 48

South America
10 | 10 | 10

CONCACAF
12 | 6 | 41

You'll also be happy to know - at least it sounds like - that the Socceroos comes complete with Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi, and Aussie Aussie Aussie Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! chants

Got bored and since I downloaded this PES mod that updates to 2025/26 and has all the World Cup teams, I decided to do a draw for a 32 team world cup, using the actual results from qualifying to determine who the 32 were.

This will still have 3 playoff spots (1x UEFA, and 2x Intercontinental) - I'll leave UEFA as UEFA for now, but did a random draw for the Intercontinental spots (as in which confederation plays who) and got OFC v CONMEBOL, and CONCACAF v AFC.

Here are the qualifiers by Confederation:

CONCACAF
USA (Hosts)
Mexico (Hosts)
Canada (Hosts)
Curacao

CONMEBOL
Argentina
Ecuador
Colombia
Uruguay

AFC
Iran
South Korea
Japan
Australia

UEFA
England
France
Croatia
Portugal
Norway
Germany
Netherlands
Belgium
Austria
Switzerland
Spain
Scotland

CAF
Tunisia
Ivory Coast
Egypt
Ghana
Algeria

Playoffs (going to sim the two intercontinental ones on the game while I do the draw)
UEFA (lets just assume Italy, I guess, as the highest ranked 2nd place UEFA nation)
Panama v Uzbekistan
New Zealand v Brazil

SEEDINGS
Will seed as usual - 4x pots of 8 - ranked by the 2025 November FIFA Rankings, with the 3x hosts in Pot 1, and the 3x Playoff spots in Pot 4

POT 1POT 2POT 3POT 4
USANetherlandsIranScotland
MexicoBelgiumKorea RepublicTunisia
CanadaGermanyEcuadorIvory Coast
SpainCroatiaAustriaGhana
ArgentinaColombiaAustraliaCuracao
FranceUruguayNorwayUEFA Playoff Winner
EnglandSwitzerlandEgyptPanama / Uzbekistan
PortugalJapanAlgeriaNew Zealand / Brazil

DRAW AND PROCEDURE
Following the usual principles - no more than 1 nation per confederation in each group (2 for UEFA), and seeding the playoffs as such as well (as in PAN/UZB cannot be put in a group with CONCACAF/AFC at all.

I've also placed Mexico and Canada in Groups A and C as per the original draw. However, to keep USA separate from Canada under the 32 nation set-up, USA has been placed in Group E, rather than Group D.

I also did the random draw into places 2, 3 and 4 for each group, rather than the pre-determined slots from the actual draw.

FINAL DRAW

ABCDEFGH
MexicoSpainCanadaEnglandUSAArgentinaPortugalFramce
CroatiaColombiaNetherlandsIvory CoastNew Zealand / BrazilKorea RepublicIranJapan
NorwayAustriaEcuadorUruguayAlgeriaCuracaoGhanaScotland
TunisiaPanama / UzbekistanUEFA Playoff WinnerAustraliaSwitzerlandGermanyBelgiumEgypt

Have simmed the first legs of the Intercontinental Playoffs:
Panama 2 - 0 Uzbekistan
New Zealand 0 - 0 Brazil

Second legs:
Uzbekistan 1 - 1 Panama
HT Brazil 0 - 1 New Zealand (via Logan Rogerson)

Ok the immersion on this World Cup mode feels next level to me. Am playing through as Australia, Italy and New Zealand (and preferenced in that order should they end up playing each other) and it’s just… wow.

Will be uploading the first group stage games for each team shortly

Started career mode with Cheltenham Town and it's going alright. It's just so rigid with the player roles. Put a LM at LW and all attributes get capped. Set defence to depth of 10 but they still don't get back. Fullbacks are just so lazy even with appropriate roles. They respond best to LB run trigger and that's it.

I get they wanted to make it more fancy by having a centre back with a ball playing role but you were able to do it manually anyway. Now the AI jolts the player a bit higher up or further away from the keeper at any cost leaving you overly exposed.

My typical 433 with wingers and 2 6's gets way overstretched so I've gone the 433 with a holding midfield to ensure defensive cover and it can trigger their runs and the box to box setting is the closest I'll get.

I think my hands and eyes develop a tolerance level when it's around Championship level. I often forget how well players can actually shoot on their game and need to pull the trigger more often. The numbers don't show it but there's definitely some kind of chemistry that builds amongst a team.

I enjoy the minimal depth FIFA brings but FM goes too deep for me.

Have considered a Leicester rebuild or Luton Town. I like to enter a team full of rabble and switch things up.

The generic stadiums in the EFL kill me.

Ecuador v Italy

Uruguay v Australia

If you listen closely to the crowd, you can hear our boring chants:
  • Aussie, Aussie Aussie Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!
  • Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi Oi Oi!
  • I’m sure I heard in either this match or my second, an Irankunda chant
USA v New Zealand

Yep - I kind of feel like FM goes way too deep, and EA not der enough.

Still coming back to grips with the PES way (formations can be set completely manually - eg, right wing can be set more forward then left wing, stuff like that)
