Sack Ante Jurić

Regardless of our past trophies, how can the biggest women's club in the country with a solid squad not sack their manager after not making finals for the first time ever and possibly not making it again, playing dogshit boring football where we rely on luck to even score a goal, randomly drop players in key games and not even caring about us?

He's a part-time Championship/NPL coach (or was until he got sacked by Sydney United this year) and that's not acceptable, the women's team of Australia's biggest football club must be able to have a full-time coach and players on full-time pro contracts.

We started the season shit with a few lucky draws and two lucky wins in the second half, and now we've lost two games in a row. 7–0 is fucking disgraceful, like beyond disgraceful and the players and staff should be ashamed of themselves. Absolute bullshit, kick him out and sign an actual coach.
 
I'm not meaning to be funny but can we put the a league w threads in the Matilda's section?

Isn't it Ante Jukic, not Ante Juric?

Ante Jukic has been a women's AL club coach.

He was also a keynote presenter at a Football Fed Aus National Conference workshop I attended.

I hate to say it, but Ante Jukic, is now carrying a lot of weight. He might have played for the Socceroos too? He is a trained teacher.

Ante Juric, I think, was a NSL and AL player - Perth Glory? He was pretty fit looking.

Nah, it's Jurić. He was an NSL and NPL player though, best known for his time at Sydney Olympic and Sydney United.

Even though he won us the Waratah Cup last season, he isn't a good coach, and even worse man manager with the players.

We all said, he should stick to women's football, but looks like that isnt working out so well for him either.

Ante Jukic is a great bloke, based in Melbourne, supports the knights, used to be a regular on TWGF.

havent heard or seen him in years.

The journalist would rip into the national team during the 2022 qualifiers. Rightly so but it was a lot of word salad without much substance. I guess he moved on to other things but he went very quiet once we'd qualified and not a peep during Qatar except for some streams. I can't even remember the 4-5 guys but they had a stream show often with NPL as a focus and the wider local game.

I seem to think I've seen the Ante Jukic, or whoever was a keynote speaker ( running an excellent seminar) for FFA dressed up as head coach for WSW. At one stage he was having great coaching success and was mooted as Matildas coach.

He was a bit overweight in 2014, but is very overweight now. I saw him on TV in the WSW dugout - I think it was WSW, not another women's AL team? The same guy has written some of the best analyses of games in the Aus media.

I mean he was a good coach. He won multiple trophies with Sydney. But his time is up, a club of our size with a squad of our strength cannot be in this position.

I think Sydney FC have been struggling with an injury crisis this season with key players like Indiana Dos Santos sidelined, in addition to the forward line failing to fire and the youth prospects not showing as much promise as initially thought.

We can defend but can't score. Jodi Ülkekul isn't convincing and Milly Cassar is Wanderers-level and should probably go back to Wanderers.

If we can sign a player like Dani Butrus or get Sienna Saveska back that would be epic. Riley Tanner needs someone to assist her. Princess Ibini should come back too, Beşiktaş was a horrible move for her.

Macca Hawkesby and Sarah Hunter have also been shocking. Macca is an icon but this season she's been off (but I can see why she never made it at Brighton or as a Matilda). Sarah was clearly not Paris FC's level and she's very underperforming.

By youth prospects that would be excluding Willa Pearson who has been outstanding for her age and could potentially be Player of the Season unless that goes to Heather Hinz.

The commentators were saying last night that they think we'll only have Heather for one season and that she'll go back to America. That's worrying. However she did say she loves Australia and loves living here so hopefully that's a sign we can keep her for a few seasons.

To be fair I think Riley Tanner hasn't been convincing this season also as she hasn't scored since the Perth Glory game at Leichhardt Oval in November, and only has a 30% shot on target percentage for the season despite being touted as a marquee player for Sydney FC and possibly a striker of similar calibre to Holly McNamara.

No one to pass to. Gets good runs but then loses the ball. She's been okay I think, just unlikely, with Indi passing to her she should be good. But that centre forward and midfield is quite weak without Indi.

Do you think we have any chance we could sign Dani or Sienna or get Princess back? Dani, if you're reading this we have good Assyrian food in Sydney!
