NPL 2026

I'm not sure about the movements during the season, maybe someone with kids in those age brackets can provide that info.

issue i have is and so does our club (spoken about in our AGM) they negotiate 1 year in advance and parents keep quiet about it and then we as a club need to find a whole new squad.

i rather WSW or Syd FC bring up kids all the way to youth and stop poaching talent.

i think it was last year we lost almost an entire under 12s team.

Academies can fuck off. i Rather sell our players directly to Europe and get coin out of it,

Ahh, the hush hush advanced negotiations, yeah that's bullshit. Same thing happens in AFL, it's killed all loyalty in the game.

Can you actually sign longer contracts so they can be sold to Europe instead? Is that kinda a problem in the member federations as well, not being able to sign players on longer contracts because it part-time?

I think the only clubs that could sell players directly to Europe would be the Croatian ones

You guys have a good relation with the federation and even had camps a couple of years ago ?

FNSW are under the impression, CCM Academy will be participating and it will be business as usual?!
Sounds like they're trying to find whatever way they can for the Academy to operate this season.
At this point I think the public story is just that the APL isn't going to be overseeing the Academy at the moment. The language is all a bit weird.

The association comps are strong St George, eastern suburbs have quality players
Eastern Suburbs apparently the strongest association comp for 10+ years now.

I guess it explains their dominance alongside Northern Beaches in the Champion of Champions.

Youth players up to the U18s can’t move clubs during the season. Only at the end.

Our top clubs need academies. It happens everywhere else in the world. The only thing that is different is our senior club teams don’t have an opportunity to get promoted into the top tier which is then an easy way for them to keep their talent kids.

yeah the HNS have been coming out for the last 3 years.

From that time period only 1 or 2 players i know signed a contract with Hajduk Split.

We are talking 12-13 year olds.

the deal would be sell on clauses.

Some of our 16 years up are on 2 year deals, guys bursting into first team football.

i would assume ages below that would only be for the year.

I don’t see why not, everything will probably fall under Football NSW anyway

The associations will be pissed they can’t ramp up their junior fees so their clubs can benefit from it

Combine the west comps, eastern suburbs, Bankstown district, St George, shire, eastern suburbs and the north
This was what I came up with last time - three comps, North, South and West. Don't really know how balanced it is, thinking more in terms of logistics. If Western NSW was able to participate in the west comp, I'd move Bankstown to the South.

Tariq Maia is half Portuguese. Danny Choi played in Portugal. Not sure about any in the U20s.
