In control of the stadium and properly funded. Club currently responsible for game day costs but income goes elsewhereWhere would you be if the council actually worked with the club?

The council are still dreaming of getting a Rugby league team out of Gosford. In control of the stadium and properly funded. Club currently responsible for game day costs but income goes elsewhere
Been on the radar for decades as we all know. The council are still dreaming of getting a Rugby league team out of Gosford.
Not a chance of a full house regularly. People who moved here years ago watch their Sydney team as a one off. Northern Eagles took all their home games to Brookvale in their last season because of poor crowds. The Coast is a football area not a league area.Been on the radar for decades as we all know.
Tbh surprised Singo hasn’t finished the job for let’s face it every single nrl game there would be full house.
Norths gone to Perf - Manly will never go there so the council will keep dreaming I suppose.
Yes know that history patj. Not a chance of a full house regularly. People who moved here years ago watch their Sydney team as a one off. Northern Eagles took all their home games to Brookvale in their last season because of poor crowds. The Coast is a football area not a league area.

The NRL are not interested. Even if they were the timeline for after Perth and PNG is 2033 at the earliest and Fiji showing active interest with Govt support.Yes know that history patj.
Sure maybe not but it’s still ol skool Aussie Anglo ville they still like their nrl as well.
If there was dedicated ccm nrl club it would get good support - bogan is bogan despite football doing well.
Speaking of things going into administration, didn't the Central Coast Council do that a few years ago and so they didn't have local elections in 2021?The council are still dreaming of getting a Rugby league team out of Gosford.
Was about to say this. Truly a dire situation. The boys won a treble, the girls pulled off a massive upset and won the granny last year, they've been here from the beginning and done enough to show they deserve to be here (whereas Western United weren't a foundation club and while it was sad to see them go they didn't really establish themselves enough besides their one championship). The CCM academy is now in liquidation.

Mariners academy put into liquidation after APL 'takes over' Central Coast A-League club

I think for footy the Central Coast is at a crossroads because the Newcastle Knights exist and then so do all the Sydney teams. There's certainly a lot of NRL fans but do they really need yet another team in the Sydney-Newcastle area? Not a chance of a full house regularly. People who moved here years ago watch their Sydney team as a one off. Northern Eagles took all their home games to Brookvale in their last season because of poor crowds. The Coast is a football area not a league area.
Well yeah people would go but again why would they add another team so close to Sydney and Newcastle? The NRL's expansion plans are clearly in the Pacific with the PNG team and one or two more Kiwi teams (the NZ Warriors would become Auckland Warriors I guess?). No idea if the Perth Bears will work; on one hand Perth is very much an AFL city and not an NRL one but on the other hand it's also a large city so it could grow league there and still perhaps have established fans.Yes know that history patj.

Current Owner is Central Coast CouncilSorry, are you able to elaborate on this a little if possible?
Are you saying that the Mariners have been the ones paying the stadium fees (Opening, Security, etc etc), yet the revenue for the matches (Ticket sales, food and beverage purchases) is going elsewhere??
That is absolute madness if true.
Current Owner is Central Coast Council
Lease holder is venuesLive.
Ticket Sales go to the club but strong police presence at bigger games against Newcastle or Wanderers in particular, even if they don't bring the numbers they used to sees a huge police bill as well so those games may not necessarily make money. NYE will because it is family friendly and less police.
I would say Matt Simon was given the task of telling people. Not behind the chaos.
Shit Pat..... not good news for the Sea Bogans.... Hope its sorted out soon.I would say Matt Simon was given the task of telling people. Not behind the chaos.
Thanks - early days but I'm hearing some possible better news regarding the academy. Time will tell. Hopefully it is just part of a process to make the club more sustainable.Shit Pat..... not good news for the Sea Bogans.... Hope its sorted out soon.
