The Western United Thread

At least the other Johnny A is on their doorstep
I doubt John Anastasiadis will want to leave Heidelberg United and become head coach of Western United when they eventually return to the comp but they still have the infrastructure in place which should in theory attract head coaches of a similar calibre.

That is something like what I was thinking.

They have Aloisi already and can pull together a squad to at least be competitive.

Who cares if you don't dominate your first season (back).
Wow these comments are wild it's like everyone has given up on the a league

He’s been to Western once as an assistant, I have no doubt that he’d want to test himself in the A-League. He’s already achieved everything he could possibly achieve in the NPL Victoria

That was not my intention.

I was saying that getting them back in next season does not require them to be top contenders in the first return season as long as they are generally competitive.

Only 1 team wins it so there is no shame in being one of the losers if they struggle to get a top notch team together in the short time available.

Or they just buy out South Melbourne and rebrand to Western United Hellas - instant successful club with history and we can amuse ourselves imagining Mono and the other South fans on here choking on their breakfast when it got announced.

Win-Win ;)

At least they dont have to beg South to play at Lakeside this time round, they still have access to that training pitch?

Yep he’s gone.

So you think their inaugural coach, who selected their first ever squad and then got passed over for 5 seasons in a row and left to get a position as senior manager to make an FA cup final in his second season would consider coming back there?

Its Avondale thats buying them out mate, NOT Hellas... we gave up on MCGs Aleague in 2018... :P

The first "effnikz pty ltd" flag in the Aleague on the back of a jersey will be the Italian tricolore... Oh sorry, the second behind the Roar Hollandia back of shirt thing :P

And left after NOT being given a senior position .. would be a fool to trust them again.

These Adelaide people are deluded. They think that because they have the best presence in the A League (best ground, full support from the city, too small to ever contemplate a second team in this stupidly structured league), that the rest of the league is in a healthy position, and should mimic them.

And as you say this watch JA sign for the new improved Avondale Tarneit United ... hahahah Look he may very well go back but considering he left, reportedly in a huff, it would be a strange move.
