19 wickets in a day so far when I wake up@

Good result in the end, runs might be hard to come by, so any lead is a good lead.

I would like to see batsmen play themselves in and pick the right ball to attack.

The pitch might settle down especially if we get some sunshine.

I guess the aim is to break records for the least number of days played in a 5 test series
I won't be surprised if Australia get a result inside three days for the Boxing Day Test and try to close the Ashes series out as early as possible, preferably with a whitewash, so we can lift the trophy quickly then the players can go off on vacation until they go back to Shield cricket or play the T20 World Cup in February next year.

Must be costing cricket australia a fortune having these games end so early

Have just had a good look at the Shield averages for the first 6 games this season.

Tim Ward from Tas tops the batting aggregate with 443 runs and 40 average. Richie has been a big fan for a long time.

TW's teammate Weatherald has been selected for Tests with only 37 Shield batting average this season. Tassie's Bellerive is a tough batting wicket at times.

Handscomb is next in the runs aggregate, but is only averaging 35, followed by Jake Lehman with 42 average. Big averages are Renshaw with 70, and Labu close to 70.

Green has played no Shield cricket.

Webster has played 2 Shield games, taken 9 wickets for very few runs conceded and scored virtually no runs, but has more recently made 44 in the Aus A game and 80 odd in a One Day.

McSweeney has only averaged 30, whilst making 226 for Aus A.

West Aussies Cam Gannon and Matt Kelly have taken over 20 wickets. So have spinners Rocky and Swepson.

Another, Hatcher from NSW has taken over 20 poles.

Gannon is too old at 35, but has bowled some great spells at Bellerive.

Konstas has also come back into the frame with some big scores.

Murphy has only taken 10 wickets to Rocky's 20, so can't decipher selectors thinking on spin?

Very pleased Aus selectors have given Jhye Richardson a bowl - despite not playing much Shield cricket.

He has looked good, despite no wickets and is still aged in his 20s.

Neser has done well on a lively pitch too.

You'd reckon that was the case, but you can lay bets CA is still spitting chips over Perth so they'd be absolutely livid with the MCG curator if this Test goes less than three days too, given yesterdays crowd was a record 93k. So imagine the lost revenue if last three days are not played.

Same old England always cheating.

That Labuschagne dismissal fucking bounced.
Even if it didn't bounce, those catches haven't been given for the best part of the last decade as it's not clear that it didn't bounce!!

Absolute joke of a decision! After Starc out on a clear no ball yesterday!!

Kooka is nipping off the seam prob even more than yesterday making life a nitemare for the batsman. A 180 lead tho should win it for us. I can see the ICC giving this pitch a fail.

The umpiring has been abysmal in this Test.

Reminiscent of the shit Indian umpiring of the 80's & 90's.
