A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 9

I love this league and have done since it started, but there has to be some concerns around the viability of it long term now. It is at its lowest ebb right now. They openly stated they are targeting an average of 10,000 supporters per match. That was publicly stated a few years ago.

They will average less than 7k this season.

It just hasn't been run properly by the people that have been in charge over the last decade. They need to look at all options moving forward.

The announced crowd was over 2,700 which is obviously crap. I think for the sake of the league they have to announce a minimum of 2,500 for these types of games. Problem moving forward is it needs to at least look like a believable figure and thats just not happening.
So how do explain CCM’s sub 2,000 crowd last weekend. The league have nothing to do with attendance's, that is squarely on the clubs. Most clubs around the world announce tickets sold, which obviously is season ticket holders, whether they show or not. Remember, their is also tax reasons included.

The clubs ask the stadium what to announce. Thats a 100% fact.

Australian sports do not go by tickets sold, as they do in the US, they go by scanned numbers, which can be tallied very quickly these days.

I had a mate who used to work at AAMI Park who said to me City always used to ask to pump the numbers up compared to what it actually was.

I was quoting the UK, not the US. And i had a mate :ROFLMAO:😴

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Thats the truth mate. Sticking your head in the sand is doing wonders for the game though.
As is your constant negativity and no vested interest in the league. Say hi to your mate in the know :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Is this quote of yours only concern the A league ?

I liked how the crowd was bunched up at the macarthur game, so it genuinely looked about 1200, but yeh i dont think you can be announcing such numbers. During Covid times maybe but not now.

Big game coming up, I thought the Jets would be paying $5, but its $2.75 Jets, $2.20 Smurfs. Both have won 2 of the last 3 games, so might be a good game. Good luck Sydney:ROFLMAO:

I Tipped Newcastle will really make things interesting if they can win

Play out from the back and lose the ball every time, but in saying that, does any smurf reckon that wasn't a pen. Send the ref back to NPL

good composure to stay in the game there from dobson

I'm loving the Jets attack. So much flair.
I think the Newcastle Jets forward line is showing a lot of promise this season and the youth definitely have bright futures ahead of them if they continue to play with as much flair as they did today.

Good win by the Jets, knocked off the two top sides this season, but I still think there a little hit and miss so far. Crowd wise looked like 4k

I really like Beach as a young keeper. But this drooling over him by the commentators is over the top. Early on he dropped a simple spinning ball to give away a corner. My son made a similar mistake at around u13. He learnt from that. Simple positioning to make sure the ball hits your body so you can smother it rather than go out should have been learnt years ago.

keepers sometimes develop late, but I'd be pleasantly surprised if Beach reaches the big 5. Maybe a midtable eredivisie club to start and a top of the table side when he peaks
