I know this isn't the book thread but I bought this a couple of months ago and I've not read it yet because it's over 1200 pages...

Daunting!

But the reviews for it were excellent and it has won numerous awards for history books such as The Times History Book of the Year, Best Book of the Year by The New Yorker and Best Non-fiction Book of the Year by Kirkus...
