How to phrase it? What's the worst thing about this world cup? Firstly splitting sport and politics and there's organisation, economics and cultural factors.
I find the vast expanse of where the games are somewhat isolating. I know Russia worked fine and South Africa had a lot of distance to cover.
There are now reports that FIFA have been giving tickets away for some games. For me that's probably the biggest issue. It's dampened the enjoyment of what should be an event where many people can afford some sort of experience. All the articles about hotels and restaurants rubbing their hands together is obvious but annoying. Had FIFA offered tickets at sensible prices it would've gotten more people on board.
The political aspects were always going to be there and the media beating it up is just to serve their own agenda. Millions have entered the country perfectly fine and people with criminal records were simply never going to get in.
The 48 team expansion doesn't sit with me but I've just gone along with it.
