I spotted her at an inner city bar last Sunday week.

I had not seen her since her SBS days (all those shows she was on post SBS I never watched, including of course her overseas stints).

Had a chance to chat to her. A really friendly person. My friend said she was probably happy to chat because she was at the type of bar that she would not normally get hit on by the usual drunken sports follower. Hehe

She does not bother working anymore. She now lives in Melbourne. She much prefers it to Sydney these days.

Still tall and striking, but some extra curves these days. She was in a group of lesbians. Make of that what you will.

She was responsible for one of the all-time moments(real ones will remember) of On The Ball/The World Game show that borderline veered it into AFL Footy Show-territory…

She’d finished reading some story/wrap-up and then, flashing that toothy smile of hers, chirped to SBS mainstay Kyle Patterson “And back to you now Kyle!”

The camera panned to Kyle Patterson w/this thirsting expression on his face, replying deadpan “Thank you for that Mieke-"

Nekminnit, Francis Awaritefe loses his shit in laughter and the other panellists join in(not so much laughing but giggling)…

As you mentioned, she dated Dermott Brereton(and Brett Leonard* at one point; *the dude who directed The Lawnmower Man - random, I know)

If she has extra curves these days that in itself isn’t a bad thing; she did err a tad on the too-skinny side at one point of her SBS tenure.
