Dolan/Warren awards

Just on the awards show, there was no glits and glammer, it looked like it had a budget of $1000 bucks. I get the APL is broke but I do miss the big night awards that they use to do in front of a lot of people. The NRL and AFL awards nights are massive and so is the NPL to be honest.

I thought it was the best show they did in ages. All the hosts did well and I liked some of the players family being there. I think money isn't everything sometimes you just need to make a bit of effort

Izzy Gomez finishing with 20 votes in the Julie Dolan Medal count, just the one vote ahead of Holly McNamara who is equally as deserving but still managed to win a second straight Golden Boot in addition to being adjudged best on ground in the Dub grand final.

I don’t know what comparison you are trying to make but, firstly, Gomez is not a striker and, secondly, she didn’t play in the grand final.

Good player but I think there were clearly two better than her this season. This also leads me to ask why Ilona Melegh got called up for the Matildas ahead of three other keepers who had better seasons.
