    A-league attendances

Why put a derby on during unite round. That game would draw close to 30,000 even without the double header. Play FC vs Victory one day and WSW vs say Melb or Bris another day and get 20,000 to each double header. Then you’ve still got a 25,000+ crowd for the derby at another time.

    A-league attendances

Just got around to watching “Came from nowhere”. Geez it made me sad and angry to see what the ALeague could have been. The crowds at Wanderers games were amazing. If only the football bosses had seen their role as defending football and its fans and being mediators rather than automatically...

I don’t disagree, but you’d think Victory, WSW and Brisbane would by now have gone: “You know what, we got it wrong back in 2016 (or whenever it was)? Those types of crowds were actually good for us.” I reckon more parents stopped taking their kids because of lack of atmosphere than stopped...

    The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

I would love to be able to be constructive, but this feels no better than: “Hey guys, I know we said we were going to have a proper comp … but are any of you up for a bit of a kick around tourney after the proper season finishes?

    Boutique stadiums Australia

Agree 100%. The best football atmosphere I’ve experienced since Roar’s heyday GFs was watching Strikers beat Wellington in an Australia Cup match at Perry Park. Would love to see both Perry Park and Lions ground at Richlands developed into 10,000 seat stadiums with both sides in the NSD.

The Orange Army. (Brisbane Roar Official Thread)

Surely Brisbane Roar would be expelled from the ALeague immediately if they ever admitted to having effnick heritage.😏

Need to at least fill the bottom tier of the stadium to get a really good atmosphere. But selling seats outwards from active support end would be a start. Instead of deliberately selling seats at the away end first to minimise atmosphere.

Promotion and Relegation is vital for Football in Australia

Not to mention that relegation battles actually increase the quality of football (well at least the intensity), the passion and entertainment value for the last few rounds.

    The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

There were enough clubs interested, but some didn’t make the cutoff based on the rules set on money, stadiums etc. I assume many more clubs would be interested in the NSD if money wasn’t an issue. So, ponder this; the NRL and our government are looking to fork out $600,000,000 to fund a team in...

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 3

Failed because of stupid security rules which meant it was financially better for the owner to cap crowds at 5,000. I quite enjoyed have a genuine ‘away trip’ with other fans on the train to the coast. Again, the makings of a genuine football experience.

That’s been the problem with the entire league. There were a million football fans out there wanting a football experience (60,000 people to a WSW/Sydney regular season game because of the active support experience) and the league thinks the answer is to try to attract AFL fans by selling them a...

    A-League Mens 24/25 - Round 3

People generally go to games for one or more of the following reasons: 1. The quality of the play, 2. An affinity with the club/fellow attendees, 3. The general entertainment value (atmosphere) or 4. To watch favourite players. In early seasons we had 2,3 and 4 with club favourites like Matty...

Used to have seats just in front of the Northern Element. The kids sitting nearby used to get a laugh out of their songs such as “Who ate all the pies?” sung to Charlie Miller or any oversized security guard. It’s not that groups like that weren’t “overly embraced” - any form of active support...
