    A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

Not depressed but I am disappointed in the failure to build a professional women’s league. We have had two major tournaments, a successful national team and a whole new audience for women’s football and no one seems in the slightest bit interested in building a workable domestic league.

    A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

Interesting observations but the problem is we are letting an experienced football person go overseas whilst our league is drifting down from 12 teams to 9 . But hey! That’s okay we have lots of good football people overseas. 😏

I will let @HonestSpursFan speak for himself but what I don’t understand is how anyone can be happy seeing our own competition go down the gurgler.

Brisbane Roar for one but that’s not my point. Leah Blayney is a top coach but you seem to be happy that she is going to the Canadian league and not to the ALW.

It’s certainly time for East Asia and Oceania to get together and push for the separation from West Asia. Australia should be a leader in this not just a bystander.

I presume you are referring to 11 ALW teams, there are only 9 teams of which only 1 is coached by a woman.

    Meanwhile the ALW dies.

    NPLW season 2026 thread

Obviously the football management aren’t looking at this squad for the replacement of ALW players moving on. Maybe there are one or two that will move up but it doesn’t seem like much planning has gone in to it. The Mariners are in a similar situation, they have teams who are bottom of the NSW...

    NPLW season 2026 thread

They may be under contract but I doubt they would have played much. They are being absolutely annihilated, second from bottom with a goal difference of minus 54.

    NPLW season 2026 thread

Surely the Melbourne City team isn’t a reserve side, it’s more like an under 20 academy team.

    A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

Yes they should but I don’t think there is much in the way of club management at the moment. In my opinion the new owners should not have been able to take control without consideration of the ALW team. As they have apparently been allowed to do that then it is up to the APL to advise the ALW...

    A-League Women/Matildas transfers and delistings

I think it reflects just as much on the APL as it does on the club. To say that the A Leagues ( men and women) are in crisis would be an understatement.🥴

There’s an interesting article on the ESPN website by Samantha Lewis about how the Mariners team found out about the fact that they didn’t have a team to play with next season. Unfortunately I’m unable to download it.
