Women's dual internationals thread

FIFA Change of Association Platform:

No female Aussie players have switched away from Australia this year so far but one has switched to Australia: Matilda Dias Wadewitz, an Aussie youth international who plays for Bulls FC Academy in the NPLW NSW, switched from Portugal to Australia.

Please don't be Daniela Galić. We love her and need her!
It's unlikely that Daniela Galic will be switching allegiance because the tip states 'more advanced age' and given the players named they'll probably be in their thirties at least, but having said that I'd be very surprised if she were to jump ship elsewhere from the Matildas.

Who do you think it is? I can't think of any in their 30s who would be eligible.

I've done some research and here are some realistic possibilities (e.g it obviously won't be a switch to England) based on the "advanced age" factor:

* Dylan Holmes (28, 1 cap) — Peru
* Alex Huynh (31, 1 cap) — Vietnam

I assume it's not Princess Ibini to Nigeria as she has eight caps and is 25. But even with those two yes they are both capped Matildas but both were only capped once, both all the way back in 2021. Either it's someone else or the tweet is clickbait.

To be fair, a more advanced age than Vesna Milivojević isn't hard. She was 20 when she got called up by Serbia.

Sounds like she's completely given the finger to the Matildas.

I don't think she was gonna be a Matilda anyway to be honest. That tweet was such clickbait though, she's only been capped once for us in a friendly.

I have a vision where Holly McNamara is the only A-League player in the Matildas squad for the Asian Cup (unless she finally gets an overseas move then there would be none). Not because the A-League is bad (since other teams at the Asian Cup will have A-League players) but because our best players are simply too good for the A-League.

I think also the current Matildas selection policy is playing a part in dual internationals switching allegiances because if Montemurro continues to select the same players then fringe players will end up being relegated to just being on the periphery and if other nations come calling it's highly likely they'll jump ship and commit to the point of no return.

Sadly true. We need to pick the best current 23 players for the Asian Cup, not the best players from five years ago.

Angie Beard has been picked for the Philippines squad! Alongside her is Filipino American A-League player Janae DeFazio from WSW!

Laura Hughes has officially jumped ship from the Matildas to Wales, with the change of association process having been completed as of December 1st. She'll be eligible to make her debut for them in their friendly against Switzerland in Spain on December 2nd, their last game for season 2025.

Laura Hughes named on the bench for Wales in their game against Switzerland in Spain, possibly in line to make her international debut for them after her recent change of association from the Matildas was carried out.

Laura Hughes subbed on at the half for Wales in their friendly against Switzerland, making her international debut for them.

Indiah Paige-Riley played a full 90 minutes for Crystal Palace in their 1–0 away win over non-league side Lewes in the third round of the FA Cup. Palace now advance to the fourth round.

Indiah Paige Riley's Crystal Palace will face Ellie Carpenter and Sam Kerr's Chelsea away in the Women's FA Cup.

Easy draw for Chelsea yet again and the third year in a row that Chelsea face Palace in the FA Cup.
