The Melbourne Victory Thread

Bottom of the league an no goals in how many games now? Gotta go.
Melbourne Victory have failed to score a goal in the last four league games and have also been winless throughout that same span, and the only win this season has come against Perth Glory who have somehow managed to salvage their season seven matchdays in.

So who do we look at signing next?

Top scorers from the Championship:
Ali Auglah - Sydney Olympic
Seita Murai - Moreton City Excelsior
Lachlan Scott - Wollongong Wolves
Manyluak Aguek - South Melbourne
Marcus Humbert - Heidelberg United
Bul Juach - Heidelberg United
Joseph Scott - Moreton City Excelsior

Some overseas Aussies:
Mitch Duke
D'Agostino
Cumdog
Maclaren

Yengi is also looking for a loan move.

I'd like to see us use Blooms analytics to our advantage.

I reckon we should still play Velupillay wide. We need a new 9 in the transfer windown. Reec was trying but isn't up to it. Vergos might be okay as a sub but I don't like him leading the line
I agree re Velupillay although I do think he could be an interesting option at striker in Popa's system, albeit untested there.

Are daggers, cummings and maclaren actually available or just more of a wish-list?

Speaking of Tony Bloom, this current sh1tshow def wouldn’t be filling him w/confidence. Why doesn’t he bite the bullet and buy the club outright❓🙏🏼

W/Diles still in charge, it would make nary a jot of difference IMHO.

Yeah, Yengi wants out and it seems Aberdeen are willing to let him go. He could be effective at MV if his confidence hasn't collapsed. That's the risk but at this stage almost anyone would look better than Vergos and, to a slightly lesser extent, Reec.

The Championship guys or Yengi please, not those overseas Aussies.

Cummings and Maclaren (and Petratos) aren't playing next season because it's been cancelled in India, unless there's an update I've missed.

Daggers was a rumour elsewhere but you'd say unlikely. Duke possibly as Japan are changing their seasons up and he could be a short term loan.

While we're at it, how about head coaches?

Aloisi (stuck at Western United)
John Anastasiadis (Heidelberg - Aus Cup finalist)
Sinisa Cohadzic (South Melbourne - Championship winners)
Nick Montgomery
Anyone else?

I'd take the gamble on Yengi's confidence. I reckon he'd fit well in this team with Mata/Genreau and some good wide players to link with. I think this team is good besides our XI.

I'm not convinced by Diles. We're underperforming.

Last on the table is definitely underperforming!

Much better on Saturday. Gotta give Diles credit for changing it up. We played a bit of hoofball combined with pressing. Lot of passion from the players. Masterclass from Mata.

Vergos might have ended his drought, but we still need to sign a striker in January.

A big fat no to Yengi. Anyone with half a brain knows he will never wanna play for us anyway. We spoke about this a few pages back.

I’m not sure why Daggers would wanna leave a championship winning team… unless they want to get rid of him? Of course I would take him back.

No to McLaren for obvious reasons. No to Duke as I have never rated him. Yes to Cumdog.

MV are looking at a lot of strikers. Looking at players from all around the world.
