Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

Wow now THIS is a such a great suprise. I thought the old fourfourtwo forum was dead and gone and today found it alive and thriving on a much better and cleaner site after all these years.

Hope you all are having a wonderful year lads.

Let's go socceroos.
Welcome to the forum!

First memories I have of the old 442 aussie abroad threads was me ranting about how shit the Bayer Leverkusen coach was for starting to put Robbie Kruse on the bench and having Son Heung-min starting ahead of him.
Time to start insulting the manchester united coach until he starts overy

No way Popovic will be dropping Degenek, he's the heart and soul of the team. Back 3 of Circati, Souttar & Burgess please & thank you Tony
I suspect Degenek will make it. Geria and him are both among the most capped players under Popovic.

But both are struggling at their clubs and Mathews is a talent. If he plays for Portsmouth it'd be an interesting selection dilemma, and I reckon one will make way.

I reckon Popovic keeps Degenek. I'd take Mathews and Geria, but reckon Geria needs a January transfer.

Watching the Colombian replay, the camera angle showed McGree plotting like a lion. He was afforded so much space but stupidly we kept passing it the wrong way. Had Irvine and O'Neill looked forward opportunities were there. Now imagine McGree left with Bos near him.

I reckon Balard is a better forward passer too. I hope he's one of our centre pair.

Which forward combo woild you prefer? McGree LF, Irankunda RF. Or Irankunda LF, Metcalfe RF?

Ideally have pairs of a fast player with good finishing and an off the ball demon with good playmaking ability to rotate so you can keep the intensity up

Perfect would be Metcalf+Irankunda and Mcgree+Volpato as your two pairs

Do you reckon Volpato will stick his hand up?

50-50 shot is my read with a 50-50 shot poppa has him in time

so 1 in 4 shot he is in the world cup squad assuming no injury

I'd love to see Volpato if his hearts actually in it. I think the odds may be longer than that though unfortunately.

It's gonna be tough for Goodwin. But it's nice to be building some quality from the bench.
I think the World Cup may well be Craig Goodwin's last major tournament especially given his advanced age and the fact that he may be contemplating retirement in the near future, but he is still a good option to have on the wing though.
