Summer of Cricket thread

Has Stokes got another Headingley '19 in him. This deck certainly lacking the usual pinkie venom, so on the cards.

He may be thinking if Travis Head can do it in Aussie, then so can I. Will definitely inject some excitement into a game that looks at this point to be another humiliating loss for the team we love to beat.
 
Both sides playing well in the first sesson.

Nesser, Doggett and Grern bowlng better.

Tactics good from both sides.

Australia sensibly not over bowling Starc.
 
WE NEVER TWISTED THE KNIFE in that session. While we were keeping Stokes quiet we were also getting him in. This has parallels with Headingley in 2019 and remember this attack is far from the top attack we had that day.

I am not sure what more we could have done,

We didn't drop any catches, the bowling was good and we created some half chances.

When a wicket falls the pom innings could fold quickly

This morning's session has been the end of bazball more than any other, surely

I dont think they are finished with bazball. Recall this grazor. Stokes is starting similar to that day and then when he began running out of partners he changed gear and proceeded to murder all our bowlers. He may be 5/6 yrs older but still looks capable of doing it again.
 
Stokes has settled in now by seeing the scores only though faced lots of balls for his score whereas young Jacks has stepped up by the look of it closing in on Stokes runs facing far less balls.
We need to break this partnership up pronto so we can finish them off

but scoring slowly has worked while slashing at everything hasn't. Surely some brainstrust in the england has jotted down some notes haha

Brilliant catch, Nesser desrved that wicket.

Even if England put on another 100 I can't see a problem if they bat half of the njght session.

If we have to bat tonight just keep wickets intact.
 
15mins is a short time in cricket, I mentioned need to break that partnership and we did :)
 
Both these guys have now settled in thanks to our lame approach from ball one today. What was wrong with some chin music, a good old fashioned bouncer barrage session first up to let em know we mean business.

Neser with 3/27 this innings, some tasty figures there!
 
Make that 4/39 against an england that has actually dug in for once!
 
Now Neser sends Stokes back to the sheds and the danger is over.

With Stokes gone the house of cards is falling quickly.
 
Neser with a 5 wicket haul and we avoid the 80 over mark which would've given us an over rate panalty
 
5for Mike Neser on his home ground. He'll play another even if Cummins returns.
