A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 6

If you want to stop the game, give it to the winning team. I'm told by a valued member of our local forum that 75 mins is the cutoff point, so wait till then. But really is rain dangerous? You think the players are morons? You adapt

As I said ,once the ball stops bouncing and moving , it becomes dangerous. This is what is measured when determining whether to postpone games or not. I think maybe you are the one sounding like a moron. I never who to award the game to, I had no horse in the race. The game became a farce.

Just one observation on the Jets play against Auckland - when they did the overhead shots several times every Jets player was moving forwards when the team had the ball.

It was such a positive looking style of play that said they were there to score and it gave them opportunities to pass and recover the ball everywhere.

On the wet, players still haven't learned that you boot the ball long and airborne when the pitch is that heavy and play it in the opposition half. Jets had a better understanding of that at least. Love seeing professionals trying to dribble in glue.

Especially funny when a keeper tries to throw the ball along the ground and it just stops.

There was one play where the keeper either kicked or threw the ball then dived on it when it got stuck. I wondered how the keeper could then get his hands on the ball before the opposition touched it. Surely you can't do that...?

I think it would have been classed that he had put the ball back into play and other players could play at it. The fact that the water stopped the ball inadvertently didn’t negate that he had put the ball back into play,

That’s how I would see it anyway.

Edit: I’ve since looked at Law 12, and it says clearly that if the goalkeeper in his own penalty area releases the ball and he then touches it with his hands before it has been touched by another player, then it is an indirect free kick to the opposition. So it looks like the ref (and I) made an error.

Let me get this right, you're calling me a moron. Have you even played the game

Yes, i have, but not at the top level. I have also been watching for more than 55 years and i know about player safety. This is not kids having a laugh sliding about in the puddles.

Have Perth found their coach?
pretty bright start

also calls into question how many good coaches out there just aren't getting an opportunity. It seems we are determined to give every gig to a former player and there is probably a lot of talent out there that never laced up

Just watched the Ack vs NJ game. Dobson is proving to be a good find - right place at the right time and skilled enough to score, and then the assist was pretty good because I think that the players lost where the ball was.

Enjoyed the Jets beating Auckland immensely!

It seems to me that both the Nix and Auck match callers are so biased towards their Kiwi teams!

Also, it is only the 3rd time that Auckland have lost at home since they've been in the AL. The Jets youth all clicked on the same day. Loved Lachie Rose's goal, when he thought he was offside!

He only looks about 15!

He played well.
