Souttar's long passes are brilliant. Circati is also excellent and Burgess has a way of lobbing nicely along the channel.

If we can just put a midfield 3 and 2 up top and permit some aggression to attack, we'll probably go alright.

Yeah if we partnered irvine with a deep lying play maker, having toure and irankunda high probably makes us lethal on the counter.
 
For me it's definitely the strength in passing that the back three combo of Souttar, Circati and Burgess provide. All excellent defenders of course but we need our backline to have a bit of swagger and confidence with the ball at their feet to be able to both see and pick out those balls into midfield.

Also their communication and positioning will be crucial when the likes of Bos makes a marauding run forward.

I think Souttar's height is also a valuable asset for us in the backline as he'll be good aerially with the high balls in a centre back pairing along with Circati as part of that back four.

There was a time when we hoped for JRB too and Stensness in midfield to really shake up set plays.

Anyone know how Italiano is tracking on his injury? Noticed he wasn't back in the squad for the Grazer friendly yesterday
