World cup 2026 Draw

Could they have made the European process any more complicated do you reckon?!
 
Trying to work out what the weakest outcome would be for Pot 1 teams to dream for?

I’m thinking Northern Ireland first, then Kosovo/Slovakia in the final

Italy v Northern Ireland
Wales v Bosnia & Herzegovina

Path B
Ukraine v Sweden
Poland v Albania

Path C
Turkey v Romania
Slovakia v Kosovo

Path D
Denmark v North Macedonia
Czechia v Republic of Ireland
 
About as easy as draw as Italy could have hoped for, though with Wales knocking 7 past North Macedonia this week, you never know.

Ukraine with a pretty tough draw, Sweden and then likely Poland. Just hope Sweden don't go through on principle after their abysmal campaign.
 
is Ukraine still playing outside of Ukraine? They’ll have two home games if they win the first one..

Oh wow - interestingly they’ve been playing out of Poland, so… if Ukraine v Poland ends up being the final, Ukraine will be the “Home” team in Poland
 
Where are these Euro games being played? All single leg or two legs? I was watching without volume as wife asleep beside me.

In the 2006 -2022 period (ie 5 world cups) Australia have managed 15 points in the Group Stages
- A win and a draw vs Denmark at 2 World Cups
- A win vs Tunisia
- A win vs Serbia
- A win vs Japan
- A draw vs Ghana
- A draw vs Croatia (it practically counted as a win as we qualified ahead of them for the Round of 16)

With all due respect I agree that none of these would count a knocking off a top side or be as big a result as South Korea defeating Portugal, Saudi defeating Argentina or Japan defeating Germany and Spain - all at the 2022 World Cup.

So taking down a top seed or top 15 level side would be a goal that hopefully gets us through to a quarter final in the upcoming World Cup or in the next few after that.
