Tsekenis was going nuts on the bench watching his team literally capitulate. Marconi coach would have taken the blow dryer treatment on the players in the dressing rooms after that.

Marconi do tend to have that type of performance in them. They got pumped by Spirit this season by the same score line.
 
There was a bit of squad rotation, but probably not enough to justify that performance. No akio, Jesic stated on the bench, maya started on the bench etc

Sometimes its just too hard to overturn momentum when you dont go into the game with the right attitude. No way Marconi believed they'd be on the receiving end of that.

The rest of the comp would be glad Wollongong are gone, saw them last week and after a dreadful 1st half they ran rings around Heidelberg in the 2nd half and continued that onto Marconi. They would have been dangerous.

They had a very decent squad, probably hadn’t jelled yet early days, but in a regular home and away season they might have come good in time to do something

The magic of the championship in the end I guess.. looked good on paper and was one of the favourites in a tight group but in the end just too little too late for them!
 
Heidelberg score from headed goal from Astopoulos, to make it 1-1 to equal Maddock’s goal for South H.
