World news and politics.

The thing with wars in Africa are complex.

Number 1 it’s not ‘news’ in traditional sense as it’s always kicking off there

2. It’s not like a war in Europe where you have a massive network of news sources and filmmakers able to get images out. Try sending a channnel 7 crew to Sudan ffs

3. It’s only natural for people to take not of conflict in an area where there is some connection
Some genocides are just more instagram friendly is what you are saying?

Not hip enough for the hipsters or not Jewish enough for the Jew haters.

Or maybe just plain old not newsworthy enough for the newsworthy....

I've met quite a few Sudanese people over the years and most of them refugees from decades of conflict in their country.

They are the most warm, friendly and generous people you could know....

With a real sense of community and tradition.

I went to a Sudanese cafe once and they way they eat a meal together is quite the ceremony. The way they eat is very communnal and gesture as they pass the food to one another.

Just generally lovely people. You have to feel sorry for them.....decades and decades of conflict inflicted on their country. Sure it's a very complex issue in that region, probably more complex than the Gaza and Palestinian situation....

Short answer - they're black.
The Rwandan genocide ( an actual genocide ) was invisible to the chardonnay socialists because Rwandan's don't have cool looking scarfs that the hypocrites can metaphorically launder their white guilt with. I mean if Che Guerava didn't have that beret the luvvie darlings wouldn't wear those stupid fucking things either. ;)

Met more African's than I can count through football. Just talk about football with any of them you meet, they're nuts about it. Love it.

Yep, exactly the same. Down at Wynumn Wolves in Brisbane you'd always get a lot of Africans around. Wynum used to organise mini football tournaments for refugees around or on World Refugee Day and stuff like that.

Very proactive in making Africans welcome around their club. And as you say they're nuts about football!!

All media are guilty of this one way or another. Denzel Washington said it best 'if you miss the news you're uninformed. If you watch the news you're misinformed.'

Its an absolute indictment but is nothing new yet the speed at which is all happens now with these fake AI clips we're heading to a very bad place with the vulnerable and gullible lapping it all up.

Really when you think about everyone is just the same. What gender/race/religion/sex interest etc doesn't matter

Unfortunately this is not the way the world works.

Discrimination and prejudice are almost inherent human psychological and sociological conditions that are part of our make up.

I think that the human animal is built to discriminate for survival and for the proliferation of it and it's own family unit and group over that of others/outsiders.

Idiotic by the BBC who've trashed their reputation and given every halfwit conspiracy nutjob an excuse to question anything put out by the BBC even if its 100% correct from now on.

To be fair they have been doing things like this for years.

Totally misconstrued anything to do with Brexit back in 2016 and onwards.

Worked tirelessly to discredit the Boris Johnson government no matter what they did during the covid.

Its what happens when your entire staffing comes from the well educated left wing middle class graduate classes. It's group think on steroids

The general populace of the UK most of which aren't left wing university graduates haven't trusted the Beeb's news departments for years.

FWIW I'm what you might call of the centre-left, would normally vote for Labour and actually still mostly in agreement with their political agenda but their reputation amongst the normies is in tatters.

To be honest, I don't consider journalism to be a real profession anyway as they have ALL on ALL sides of the toxic partisan swamp been doing this stuff for years. They ALL lie to suit their particular narrative.

Remember that ABC show Frontline? Hilarious but nothing has changed since the 90's when it was made.

Yes and no. ABC investigations on child care abuse for example is not politically motivated and great journalism you'd have to agree. 90% of what's on the ABC front page is good journalism without an agenda. (And them and the The Guardian are just about the only 2 you see doing investigative stuff in Australia. Murdoch sure as hell ain't. Defund the ABC and what's left? News.com.au and Sky FFS?!)

Just have a scroll through any of those stories from the ABC and tell me there isn't good journalism going on. Beats getting your 'facts' from a tik-tokker.

Political reporting you may have a case but I saw Ita Buttrose once say they get emails and letters from just about any interview of a politician from both sides complaining of bias which patently can't be true.
