A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 4

That Sydney jersey is horrendous. And they are the home team, why aren’t they wearing their home kit?

It’s getting ridiculous. Very soon, clubs will be wearing a different kit for every game.
It’s a third kit and the I believe the APL have made a rule where they have to wear each kit at least twice.

Obviously the only time they’d wear it away is against city so as a result, they have to wear it for a home game too

A vibrant city like Perth should have an A League side that can attract more than 5 or 6 thousand fans.

Perth Glory used to be the best supportered football club in Australia once upon a time.

Anyone have any insights as to what's gone wrong in Perth?

They could wear it away against other teams too if they wanted, like Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle, Mariners. Colours don’t always have to clash for clubs to wear their alternate kit.

But as Sutho said, it’s for commercial reasons, and they are much more likely to sell these shirts at homes games rather than away games.

It's the same with every team. They lost fans because of stupid decisions. Australian football has lost popularity and it's a niche sport the last few years

Reasons specifically for Perth though. It's a one A League club city....with a very good rectangular stadium for A League football.

Brisbane is another one A League club city and gets terrible crowd numbers too but there's a very specific reason for that.

Very AFL them sandgropers, maybe even more than Victorians, I spent many years living over there. Even NRL failed back in the 90's. At least Glory are still going

NRL never failed, it was a victim of the conciliation of the ARL & News limited, collateral damage if you wish.

Well If anything I hope the Jets / Roar game is entertaining. Both been a bit hot and cold. Jets have gone from playing nice attacking style to boring as batshit play out from the back and lose the ball style. Hope it's Jets hot/ Roar cold;)

Watched the MVC vs MC game. MC very tight defense and with Beach as GK, MVC found it difficult to score. Having said that, MVC should have scored but Mata, Davidson and Grimaldi just fluffed it. I have decided that Davidson is not captain material, Vergos just does not cause fear and with reason, and that a few players are now resigned to a mediocre season.
MC have done well with their youth development but will they be able to sustain the pace week in, week out?
