A-League Mens 25/26 - Round 2

Jets are changing the point of focus constantly.

As soon as a Jets player gets the ball they push it elsewhere - regardless of whether it is to a marked player or not. They are then expecting the ball to go free as often as not and running to pick up that loose ball.

Victory are playing a normal structured defence where they mark players and dangerous spaces - but the Jets seemingly random ball movement has them always chasing and finding themselves out of the contest.

Even balls passed from the Jets to Victory players end up with Jets control as Victory are just not expecting their opposition to pass to them and get caught flat footed.

Halftime should see some adjustment to the Victory style of play and perhaps more control by Victory.

Been a very enjoyable game. Some really nice battles and periods of interplay.

Victory not toothless but not yet come to grips with their opposition.

I don’t normally see most of these young players as ready for a national team call up at 19-20, but is Badolato one of the exceptions that should be called up for the next squad, even if just for experience without playing (a la Paul Okon a few months ago)?

I know it's the A League but seeing local names amongst the goals feels great. Badolato and Genreau WC smokies.

I'd rather Badolato running at a tiring defence than the old guard late in a game.
producing a segacic every year. Competition for places gonna be eye catching in a few years
