FIFA have named the players representing Malaysia with falsified ancestry. I wonder if they'll crack down on other nations....

No doubt that Malaysia is a pretty cosmopolitan/multicultural country, but..blokes with Argie/Brazilian/Spanish roots hailing from there is pretty fcken incredulous; only the Dutch bloke seems somewhat plausible due to the geographic proximity to Indonesia

definitely prefer the same order for both halves of the season.
It's kinda easier to keep the fixtures in your head at least. Germany does it and I suppose it works. Worst part is they don't schedule the matches at the start of the season. They come in batches and leave you hanging. Very fan unfriendly.

I noticed Levante has played Oviedo twice already.

Speaking of Dutch experiments Indonesia aren't going to the World Cup. So much for that.

The Malaysia FA and the government departments responsible for this have been caught red-handed by FIFA. They can’t admit it, apologise and eat humble pie because they are datuks and bigwigs like the Sultan of Johor (who incidentally has his own army). So they’re doubling down. Lawyers hired, and they have appealed. It’s a media circus gift that keeps on giving. But its also really sad because Malaysia doesn’t have jus soli/jus sangunis (right of birth or right of the soil) so there are thousands of people that were born in Malaysia but are stateless citizens with no passport. Many of them have been waiting years/decades. Really horribly unfair that some pro footballers have had their Malaysian “nationality” fast-tracked while thousands of people wait years, and may never get it.

didn't A-Liga used to have a panel that reviewed for things like this retroactively?
Hope so. Bundesliga has such a thing. A player once got a 2 game ban for judo chopping his markers grabbing arm. It was self defence to free himself on a set play.

With the Australian Championship going on at the same time as the A League it can be a Australian football-o-rama all afternoon and evening tomorrow. 8 hours or so of the local game back to back.

Saturday
1:00pm Marconi v Wollongong
3:00pm ( AEDT ) Auckland FC v Western Sydney Wanderers
3:15pm Sydney United v Metrostars
5:00pm Melbourne City v Perth Glory
7:35pm Sydney FC v Central Coast Mariners

;)

Bayern score from an offside position in the cup against Cologne and there's no VAR yet everyone now screaming for it. I guess the assistant ref should've seen it but the biggest issue is the media using it as a story angle now. The media were always the problem with this. Broadcasters should not replay as much like other sports and we move on.

That's why I have no sympathy for people complaining that the use of VAR is scrutinising offsides to the millimeter of a toenail.

After all - that's exactly what the media wanted.

Didn't know where to post this but I just wanted to point out that football is possibly healing in Greece... PAOK and National team wiz kid Kostandelias scores a lovely goal against Panathinaikos in Athens and instead of throwing coins, bricks and bottles at the kid a big majority of the home fans stood and applauded the goal....

Can't even describe how remarkable that is between two hated clubs.

Some nice play and finishs despite the deflected one.
Put aside your league political probs that never seem to stop for decades - there is some good greco players always.
