Media bias against Australian football

Bit harsh.

I’ve thought NM just likes a bit of a laugh.
Truth - straight to the point no softly stuffing around like most things today…..we’re in a varied pool of members.
You see it that way others wouldn’t - that’s life.
You throw the bit of laughs out there expect what fished for.

Being aboriginal would explain a bit. I heard from Stan Grant that he and his Aboriginal mates would grow up cheering for whatever team played against Australia. I remember 10 years ago seeing all these disenfranchised fans of nsl clubs would bag out anything oz football and almost seem to cheer against us. But apart from the anarchy trolls, none of them personally attacked people and it took me a while to realize it came from a reaction to the sins of the past, rather than just trolling.

Nomates also has a lot of opinions that seem anti socceroos and a bit trollish while claiming to be a truth teller (and this can occasionally be plausible since there are plenty things to be negative about in oz football, but taken to ezaggerated extremes). However nomates has never personally attacked anyone. So it is plausible to me there is a sins of the past with how the football community has let down Aboriginals in ways i dont know about.

Of course he could be trolling and having a laugh. But meh, who cares if i get fooled. Im curious if there is something to learn here

being fooled isn’t an issue but as you mentioned what you learn - I said clearly what many of us question wonder and learn.
Just straight.
No need for long paragraphs and complication Graz.
I’m sure NM has strong shoulders otherwise he wouldn’t play as such.

Craig Foster used to constantly talk about 'moving the needle' in terms of Aboriginal or Indigenous participation in football. He used go and to do small coaching clinics in Aboriginal communities and would always be very complimentary towards the footballing abilities of young Aboriginal players.

Particularly in terms of their natural footballing skills.

He doesn't seem to do this anymore. Or if he does he doesn't talk about it. Which is a shame because I reckon that he could have been a real pioneer in bringing Aboriginal football players into the mainstream of the game.

I was always of the belief if former Adelaide United player Freddie Agius applied himself he would've played for the Socceroos.

That bloke was an unbelievable but wasted talent.
