FIFA 26

I remember the WC 2006 game and as Australia had qualified and every German stadium was there the hype was real. Being in the OFC you'd qualify on hot, dry pacific pitches.

World cup 98 on Nintendo 64 had the best marketing when they'd say on TV 'includes Australia' and you'd see Kewell with a diving header.

I remember the absolute rarity that Australia would advance out of the group on the CPU. The tournament randomiser would come up with some pretty crazy groups.

EA go on about these game engines and real player development but I think the software is flawed and doesn't do anything near that. Hopefully this new version gets back to the more fluid play but enough where a good stand tackle can actually win a ball.

First game to include Stadium Australia too

06? I think that's accurate for a football game. I remember road to world cup Australia played at a generic stadium that had a near identical roof to Bruce stadium.

RWC 2003 was great where you had Gosford. With modern tech you'd think they'd be able to add a tonne of stadiums.

Nah, RTWC 1998 - Has Stadium Australia - so all Oceania qualifiers take place in it

Now I recall my thoughts at the time. I remember thinking as a kid 'this stadium is to open in 1999 yet this game was released late 1997'.

They had all the image plans. I remember thinking the closest it resembled was Bruce stadium with the curved roof and being Canberra and all.

I forget the exact name but the generic one on many fifas of around 40k basically has the Kaiserslautern roof structure and the single office block in the corner.

I'd really like for EA to have more generic stadiums but also do away with the annoying angle of a few English based generic stadiums that have high concrete walls.

Pride Park needs to be added. It's annoying playing as Derby and having a continental style stadium with fencing, uncommon in England.

I'm thinking of starting a save with Feyenoord. Bos's potential in the game is 78 but hopefully I can make it higher

So Saudi arabia owns EA sports now
It'll be interesting to see with all this funding. I'm not sure how profitable EA were before but they've been smart in focusing on money maker add ons. Unfortunately career mode won't be that unless they put purchasable content inside it.

Well I haven't gotten into FIFA 26 at all. I've been playing it since 98 and it's just not as much fun imo

If they do a world cup mode I'll probably get into that because winning world cup with Australia will be a fun challenge

Really? I’ve heard it’s one of the best in a while. I haven’t had the chance to play yet due to work 😂

i havent purchased the new FC26 yet, i probably will buy it as i have every single Fifa game since 98.

is the game any different to FC25? cause that was Meh.

Got 26 this week. Feels a bit more fluid. Less rigid. Got to tweak tactics. Seems deep lying play maker with roaming tactic allows for movement while also getting into suitable defensive position.

Considering changing passing settings to manual as the assisted or semi still picks the nearest with lobbed passes. Can hold button a bit more but then it's overhit.

Hate players must have a tactic as it's hard to get the right balance. Also the stupid system panics if someone is out of position. Surely a bloke who plays CM will survive as CDM?

Game just isn't realistic. I'm scoring hat tricks with Yengi. Sucks not to have Socceroos and it eats into the available Australian players on the game.

Somewhat a heavy feel to it still. My game has somehow reset so I've got to adjust the sliders again. Maybe higher difficulty and slider adjustment.

I haven't touched FIFA since I installed it.

I hope they release world cup mode it'll be fun playing as some teams

Yeah it’s not a good game if you’re looking for realism.
