Realised that CONCACAF doesn't have it's own qualifying thread. Round 2 has finished up, meaning that the next international window will be the beginning of the final round.

Round 2 Standings

Round 3 groups
  • Winners of each group to qualify directly
  • Two highest ranked of the three runner-ups will advance to the FIFA Playoff Tournament
GROUP A
  • Panama - 33
  • El Salvador - 81
  • Guatemala - 106
  • Suriname - 137
GROUP B
  • Jamaica - 63
  • Curacao - 90
  • Trinidad and Tobago - 100
  • Bermuda - 168
GROUP C
  • Costa Rica - 54
  • Honduras - 75
  • Haiti - 83
  • Nicaragua - 133

Just some little stats - This is 11 of the next 12 highest ranked CONCACAF nations (after the hosts), with Bermuda being the lowest ranked. The countries in between Bermuda and Suriname (the next lowest ranked nation remaining) are: Dominican Republic, St Kitts and Nevis, Guyana, Puerto Rico, Antigua and Bermuda, St Lucia, Cuba

Updated projected FIFA Playoff tournament competitors now following the completion of the June window. This has been done using the current standings (where applicable) and then the current official FIFA rankings where there are no standings.

OFC - New Caledonia (confirmed)
AFC - Iraq
CONMEBOL - Venezuela
CAF - Senegal
CONCACAF 1 - Honduras
CONCACAF 2 - El Salvador

It’s safe to chalk off my old homeland 🇸🇻 as out of the race; hurts to admit but it’s the truth. If the national FA(FESFUT) are fair-dinkum about the project for 2030 qualification, best to concentrate on that.

I mean.. still 4 games left, and only 1 point behind..

Next window is both games at home though, so that's a crucial 6 points needed there I think.

We’ll see, but my hopes are all but gone already.

Only normal it's so tough given 3 CONCACAF teams are hosting but Suriname are on a roll.

I'm going to assume the regular process will be the same, but top 2 from each group qualify (with the caveat there will be a USA, Canada or Mexico in each group) - but I guess we won't find that out until 2027

Seedings updated above as of today's international fixtures.

Heading into the final round - here is how things play out (Only doing Group C at the moment, will do A and B after tomorrow's fixtures)

Group C
  • Honduras 8 (+5), Costa Rica 6 (+3), Haiti 5 (0) all mathematically able to qualify directly.
  • Final matchday sees Costa Rica host Honduras
  • Honduras will qualify after matchday one IF
    • Costa Rica fails to defeat Haiti AND
    • Honduras defeats Nicaragua
  • Costa Rica will qualify IF
    • Costa Rica defeats Honduras on matchday two AND
    • Costa Rica defeats Haiti on matchday one
  • Haiti will qualify IF
    • Haiti defeats Costa Rica on matchday one AND
    • Nicaragua fails to defeat Haiti on matchday two AND
    • Honduras doesn't win either of their two matches
  • There's probably other calculations, but it is quite open to list them all

Group B
  • Jamaica 1 point ahead of Curacao - they play eachother on the final matchday.
  • Jamaica will qualify after matchday one IF:
    • Jamaica defeats Trinidad & Tobago, AND
    • Bermuda defeats Curacao
  • T&T in third still mathematically can make it, however they'd need the following all to happen if I have my scenarios right:
    • T&T defeats Jamaica on MD1,
    • Curacao failing to defeat Bermuda on MD1,
    • Curacao and Jamaica to draw on MD2,
    • T&T to defeat Bermuda on MD2

Group A

Suriname with another foot in the door : 1-0 up at halftime over Panama... This will put them 2 points clear of El Salvador (assuming an El Salvador win - but their match against Guatemala has just kicked off) heading into the final two matches

PANAMA DRAW LEVEL IN 6th MINUTE OF STOPPAGE TIME

An El Salvador win (0-0 with Guatemala at HT at the moment) will throw the group wide open on the final matchdays...
