Socceroos vs Canada/USA Oct 25

Liking these players getting fired up. Spicy makes for a better match.

This is not aimed at you LFC. Just a general info post about throw-ins to dispel a few myths.

Australia playing with a slightly higher line than normal. It is more of a mid block than a deep block when usa have the ball in our half. Do USA lack pace? Interesting tactics, especially since we did concede from USA getting in behind.
Nice goal from bos

Half of two halves there. A shame we couldn't tighten up of have them have to play in necessary spaces. They did the movement but we allowed them a lot.

Geria has had a poor first touch under no pressure a couple of times, that has put us under pressure. I thought Circatti could have intercepted that pass through to Wright when they scored, but maybe he was wrong-footed.

Boyle is a useless in these sort of games where we play so deep (which is probably all our games). He very rarely gets the ball, and on the rare occasion he does get it he is incapable of holding it.

Bos gets around a premier league defender to score there. Just shows they're not always on song themselves.

Got to say Balard has given the ball away more than I would like but that may happen from heavier involvement. He needs to sharpen up there.

USA goal is Balard missed pass and he's also a bit slow to track the player getting the assist. Mass communication mix up at the back from us and a sharp toe poke it all tags needed. A training goal of sorts.

In a stupid zoom meeting and cant watch... are we playing OK?
weird tactics

We are playing a midblock rather than our usual deep block and we lack pace in our front 3

Bos scored a great solo go, they got in behind us once and scored, basically chanceless otherwise

Not a fan of Boyle in particular but I think any striker would struggle the way Poppa sets up our teams. The poor bastard up top is usually chasing 3 fullbacks all on his own. Lucky to touch the ball 3 times in a half. Irankunda has the same problems against the Canadians.
