Bankstown came down for a friendly and we're great people.
Rockdale decided to try and fight our players in a pre season friendly tournament...
Says it all really
There definitely is a rivalry and dislike and I would say it’s increased after they’ve taken our best ever playerThere fans jumped onto the field and hit our players which sparked a wild brawl before a few years back.
My last question regarding Rockdale and Bankstown, as i dont want to derail the thread, however;
did all Bankstown city lions supporters convert to Rockdale fans once Bankstown was relegated? i speak to a few close maco mates and they are Bankstown boys and refuse to support Rockdale, which he says there is a rivalry.
Heard about that and honestly pretty disappointed every club has bad apples in its fanbaseThey're literally the ones I'm worried about to be honest.

I’m not by any means saying that whatever they did was correct but the way Marconi players carry themselves in the first game this season just passed was poor and a now former Marconi player even making fun a of a passed away Rockdale player people won’t be happyI’ve seen people wearing Bankstown jackets etc at Rockdale games, no idea what the relative numbers are like. I think they’re still by and large distinct supper bases. Also I don’t want to say too much but I’ve also seen similar attempts at provocation from the aforementioned group at the Marconi

Avondale game was close to if not 2000 as wellI think everyone did. I'm not one to spread crowd number conspiracy but if there were ~19000 fans total, and 11k of them were at the South and Preston games; there is no feasible way Heidelberg had over 2000. Especially if we then also assume Sydney United had ~2000 and South Hobart surely in the higher 1000s at least.
Looked like the Croatian Community in Melbourne turned out for that one to give their support to Canberra.Avondale game was close to if not 2000 as well
Yes but wasn't many actual canberra fans who came, assume they will go to preston away insteadLooked like the Croatian Community in Melbourne turned out for that one to give their support to Canberra.
Again - Canberra people don't travel. Croatia may be the exception, but don't expect many to travel.Yes but wasn't many actual canberra fans who came, assume they will go to preston away instead
I secretly hope it batters down and you are out in the open, so you can see what a great ground this is.High of 29 through Friday - hopefully that storm pass’s by and we get nothing.
What mate?Why a "once off" and not a "soft launch"? What do you really lose if this league finds its feet?
also second ball pod
Yeah I understand what your saying, I had just assumed Sydney United was capable of getting a crowd similar to South Melbourne etc.
We just gotta be realistic and understand these clubs don't have the support they once did Are they capable of attracting new fans? I'm not so sure, but I certainly hope so!
Like you said, I view this tournament as a "one off", hence why I expencted a bigger crowd.
You posted that you viewed the tournament as a "one off" and I was wondering why? If you expect them to grow and question whether they are capable of doing so or not, then its pretty promising (at least from my point of view) that crowds where almost double/triple what most are getting for regular NPL as recently as a few month ago.What mate?
