that's because all the new dawn ever did was bag out the NSL, the ethnics, wogs, and crowds before 2004/2005. (clearly you didn't know this, because your visa got accepted later i take it?!)

lets play the reverse card.

If an A-League club ever gets relegated, what will their crowds be? what will their budget be? how many sponsors would leave? How many would cease to exist?
20 years on, these clubs are still around and fighting, same cant be said if it was roles reversed.

They Aleague *cough clubs *cough will go into hibernation like WU rather than be relegated... otherwise they cant survive on the 8 humans and 2 dogs crowd they get in the NPL.....

Sutho - why push the barrow re "a Greek club " or throw in Italian or Croat clubs for arguments sake.
Does it really matter - everyone knows they are Australian ethnic background Clubs barring very fresh newbies moving forward.
Whats wrong with any supporters mentioning the background roots of these aussie clubs afterall - its the clubs DNA no diff to any business having its foundation roots showing on their website history. I really don't see an issue.

Flip it the other way, I'd prefer NO NPL Club leave their top league/Championship but grow it - why go to a league that cost a Club a bomb for very little return - from a business perspective you'd be a bloody mug. Nothing computes about it.

I'm glad the NPL budgets are "affordable" - IF any NPL Club decides going the darkside good luck to them, I can't see it as a long term prospect but themselves falling over their sword.

How many football clubs around the world, run at a profit every year. Football is not about making money; it's about spending money.

Totally relevant to the Australian Championship thread of course - but wherever I am in the world I am always drawn to a big breakfast regardless of the time of day.

Be it black pudding, white pudding, haggis or anything else less anglo, how can you go past eggs, sausage, toast, tomato, baked beans (hmmm), and mushrooms?!
 
And I am not certain that Mono isn't wrong about the aleagues clubs holding sway because they are the 'top flight' attraction and relegation could sink them.

It is the super league concept and it does require high exposure and higher financial losses to exist.

For SMFC putting in bids to join the league over time - they are a proud club and they want to be in the top flight, playing against the best and proving themselves the best like the rest of us.

Unfortunately for them they will never knock the Roar off that pedestal; but they can be a distant second if they are good enough.

I have gone on record on SFCU, saying that if SFC got relegated, the club will more than likely fail to exist anymore.
