Sign Up Now!You guys were playing an Italian team from Perth what was going to happen that’s ridiculousdid any other games have 20 riot cops, 20 security guards and police camera towers?
FMD talk about an over reach and over kill.
Football Australia can get fucked.

I can confirm its currently on well over 50 South fans making the away Olympic trip..I dare say it’s a safe bet your best showing will be away v Olympic. Hopefully everything aligns on and off the field and there’s a good crowd in. Will try to get there myself.
10 year ago south played away in the Australia cup mid week v palm beach I believe from memory on the Gold Coast. They brought a solid little group who sang all game. That was before the renaissance of the npls. Not many other clubs let alone traditional clubs would have been able to do that
I did think that sydney uniteds crowd did seem a bit small compared to what i expected. Did the police scare them off?0 Away Fans.
all it does it just turn people away from the game.

Insulting/irritating as it is...did they have any reason to be there in the end?did any other games have 20 riot cops, 20 security guards and police camera towers?

maybe police are secretly football fans and want an excuse to come to the games?Insulting/irritating as it is...did they have any reason to be there in the end?
If not, at some point the budget has to say "it has proven to be a low risk event" so let's focus elsewhere.
If we are smart enough as fans, we prove the presence costly and unnecessary.
What are the chances of making a head cop Fan #1 for some team or other? If we can find a way to work with the police to stamp out anything we don't want to see, or to support a charity near to their hearts, and we can put a senior copper in a team strip once, we have a chance at changing the perception.
Just thinking and hoping.

so you need 14 fans to pay for 1 cop to be their for 2 hours? Its Bayswater FFS. If it was a Preston or South Melbourne, i'd get some sort of presence, but even that would be an overkill.
FYI - Football Australia dont fork out the police and security costs. They tell the club this is what you are going to have and you need to fork it out.
So the club is probably at a loss today. Each police officer is $150p/h
so you need 14 fans to pay for 1 cop to be their for 2 hours?
So if fans give you $20 in revenue each, the cops would cost you the first 1100 fansRiot cops charge $10k call out fee at a minimum i believe, then the hourly rate.
I know some people will disagree, but as I’ve said in the past, the crowd figures for the last season of the nsl are publicly available. After having been subject to 20 years in the wilderness and taking into consideration that this is the second tier not the top flight, if clubs can get comparable crowds in the championship to what they got in their last year in the nsl, that would be an admirable starting pointi'd say the crowd was a touch over 2k, there was a packed grandstand, weather wasnt the greatest.
So if fans give you $20 in revenue each, the cops would cost you the first 1100 fans
Would this have anything to do with the cup final a few years ago ?
