Nice enough line up but we've sacrificed a lot of ball play with Izzo and Rowles starting.

Italiano starts despite being an emergency replacement is just wild. Why not pick him outright then?

Got a massive cold so I went to bed at 7pm as I needed the rest and now it's a 2 hour middle of night session. Just like the times in Australia for EPL. Though you'd be awake the whole time through until Peakcock, Bosnich and Slater said good night before the late game.

I'm totally for it but it kinda bugs me and I wish coaches were fronted with 'what's your thinking here?' Drastic changes at will.

Maybe Karacic was slated to start.
 
Another good test to see how Circati handles the weight of the armband as his last game against NZ was definitely his worst for Australia. Not bad but certainly more casual. Just a friendly though so no need to ovrrexert.
 
Interesting with Izzo in goal again. Does Popovic possibly not consider Ryan as his first choice. He has already left him out previously in the Japan away game.

Just watching Popovic pregame interview now, his comments on Izzo instead of Ryan didn’t really indicate that Ryan is necessarily his first choice.

I don't think so. He just said it was good for Izzo to play with Ryan in the camp and the Canada game is a different type of pressure. It'd be ludicrous not to have Ryan as number 1 because Izzo can't do anything with the ball. Ryan got recalled and proved worthy.

some of ryans best games was when he had to win the job off gauci. Maybe Poppa trying to make ryan earn his spot to get the best out of him
