Australian Championship (NPL on planes) new signings 2025

All the squads have been announced on the Championship Website

Something I noticed on there - Scott Galloway isn't listed in Preston's squad. The squad lists aren't perfect (numbers are repeated and positions are missing), but Preston's squad does include some new signings - Damien Bozinovski and Adisu Bayew.

Do we have a final estimate of numbers?
I think Ive got every new signing covered.... Don't know the previous squads of many of the interstate teams well enough to be sure...

60 new signings by my count.,, NOT a bad bit of business by most. Great to see how a smidge of ambition can go a long way in our game...

Wonder how many stay?

Do we think the mass signings at short notice might reduce the quality of the matches, at least in the early rounds? You usually need four to six matches to start gelling together. I wonder whether they'll introduce new signings off the bench at first. I have no doubt that the quality of the signings is high, I just worry about the preparation time, there might be a few crossed-wires on the pitch.

only an average of 4 per club which should be ok I'd think?

These are the one's I'm mostly worried about:

Signings - Club

8 - United 58
7 - South Melbourne
6 - Broadmeadows
5 - Wolves, Morton, Canberra

That's six clubs with over half an outfield of new players and no time to gel.

Just a little worry, but I hope it's nothing.

We will have a direct comparison to tell what is the optimal number of signings wont we?

South wont alter too much. Im not worried about our signing the 2 key starters Aguek and Uchida are NPL hardened and walk ins for any side giving is power where we lacked it infront of goal..Giannakop will play a specific role we lacked also which was needed. The real question mark is on how quickly Pasquali can settle. If he manages to hit the ground running then this will be an exciting time!

Going into today's match with half a new squad we don't know what to expect.

we had too much turnover and injuries, so the signings were necessary.

i dont think we make it out of the group, hope to be proven wrong.
