NRL + Super League🏉

I actually have zero interest in half time/ pre - game concerts or whatever, only go for the match and the bevy.
Plenty of footage over the years showing some performance blaring while people are more concerned making it to the toilet or doing something else.

Years ago Psy was at the Italian cup final and got booed throughout.

Havana Brown to do HT show. Didn't the A League already have her?

No complaints about the season in general or the Broncos winning.

The teams finished in roughly the order they deserved with talent, hard work, execution, coaching and the odd small slice of luck determining the outcome.

They had the right ref for the GF and the ref had little influence on the result.

Even though my team the Dogs didn't win, I am happy with their effort and they finished roughly where talent, fitness and coaching determined that they should finish.

Overall the games are entertaining, results unpredictable and most games including all semis the better teams won.

What is good is that players are determining the outcome, and that allows more talented players like Walsh to show what they can do.

I don’t think that the Broncos and Walsh will be unbeatable in 2026, they will need to earn their wins.

Most interesting will be if the Broncos can back up after a GF win, like the Panthers did for several seasons.

As for the Dogs and all other teams, we need to rise to the standard, don't expect the standard to drop down to our level.

Congrats to the Broncos and Storm for a high quality highly contested GF, one of the best or perhaps the best i have seen.

I doubt that R360 will have an impact on the NRL. Sure some guys will take the money, but there is always a talented young player ready to replace them.

There is no shortage of talent, there has been a shortage of high quality lower grade coaching, training and development.

I think that if a player from the 1980s/1990s sees what development and coaching looks like for young people these days, they will think about how much better they could have been.

I said people because it is a matter of time before NRLW development is more professional. That will provide a pipeline of NRLW talent to make the comp more even and interesting.

Someone should work how to fix the Wallabies. I rarely watch RU, but the match against the All Blacks was embarrassing. If R360 poaches some Wallabies players that will make it worse.

I imagine that a RU comp is mostly going to affect RU, and it seemed like RU player development is well off the pace.

I didn't want to post in the thread all season because I was trying to remain very calm all season, even after our wins against Canberra and Penrith. Damn does that win feel good though!!

And to top it off, the women won too and broke the unbeaten run from the Roosters.

For the first time, I went into a match thinking the Storm would find a way to choke... and unfortunately they didn't prove otherwise. Such a strong club, up there every season. But haven't coverted those seasons and brought home enough trophies for mine. But still, I'll take one premiership over none at all haha.

Not enough trophies was because they systematically cheated and had trophies stripped.

Got to say it was a cracking GF incl the late obvious tackles but that’s nrl.
I thought the Storm may have snatched the lead late but kudos to those pesky broncs they stood up like an origin game really.
Being a Sydney person I didn’t really care who won but good game for a neutral.

Was a crazy match

3 crazy matches in a row to get there

I don't think we'll ever see a game like that Canberra match.
Considered changing my opinion on the best sport in the world after that match :D

Didn't even mind when i thought we lost and applauded the match rather than the team when we won. Just incredible

I sometimes think that, but more often than not, things happen that make me realise it's not.

One example is the rule of double knock on. If the first knock on benefits the team it's against, play advantage, don't bring it back.

I think the ruck penalties and 6 agains are so obscure. You can never tell if the ref is biased or your team is just making a lot of mistakes. It is the hardest sport in the world to tell if the referee is being fair or not!

Don’t know why you could consider it’s the best sport in the world - hardly played by anyone.
Sure when it’s a good flowing game like a good game football everything turns to gold but nah it’s got some crazy rules now to speed up the game.
I can’t stand the no contest scrums - for me it’s a joke for the sake of speeding up the game.
Not sure you grew up with contest scrums like I did but hooker is an art there as is the props in leveraging their weight for the feed win.
The win against the feed was exciting by the scrum pack who outsmarted the other.

Nah, I beg to differ. Ruck penalties and 6 agains I can kind of see your point, but I was talking more about the double knock ons. In some situations, advantage should be played. So for example, Roosters on the attack, throw the ball, they fumble in a tackle, it then accidentally hits a Broncos player and goes forward, Robinson (another Bronco) picks up the ball, runs and scores a try. It then gets called back to their 40 metre line for a penalty to the Broncos.

The Broncos win a penalty, but they lost the advantage. Calling it back benefitted the Roosters because the Broncos have to now start from their 40 metre line. Brigginshaws knock on is not intentional, it's purely made because of the contact from her tackling the Rooster player. In this case, common sense should prevail.
