Had a cheapy version of it (eg, not the real match ball, but the $30-40ish one) and someone kicked it on a roof and I never got it back and I was devo
surprised it didn't fly away it was so light

2002 ball had a dodgy sticker on it when I was a teen and somehow got it for 30 or so bucks instead of the 80 they normally wanted. Just like target there'd be one of the set of CD's mislabelled and somehow it was also the same when they scanned it too.

Was the hero of lunch time matches when the ball came out.

The number of tennis and cricket balls and a few footballs we'd get by going to school on the weekend and climbing up on the roof. Schools are basically locked up now. Used to be able to cut through a lot of them.

Talking about climbing on the roof I used to live across the road from my primary school. We would still use it as an extended backyard when I went to high school for all sorts of sports. We would play cricket against what was the NSW Art Dept facility. It was for the most part windowless on the wall we played against and so formed the keeper and slips. It was also about forty feet high before the roof.

One morning during the holidays we only had a couple of us there and I skied a ball onto the roof behind me. Well we found a suitable ladder on the grounds and I proceeded up retrieve the ball with my mate holding the ladder. As I threw the ball down down the ladder moved and I was left with one foot stretched to the top rung and clinging to the gutter. My mate couldn't budge it and I was just about to summon up the courage to let go when the ladder cam up to support me properly. One of the pro-wrestler form Channel 9 apparently lived on the opposite road and saw me struggling and came to our rescue. I can't remember who it was but he was American a drove left hand drive bright green convertible.

The issue I had was it was my brother in laws bucks night (The family one, not the real one) that we had at our big shed. Inside in one corner is the two-level office building that dad popped in years ago, which wasn't connected to the walls/roof - so there was a gap about 2 ft high between the roof of the top level, and the roof of the shed - naturally we all got drunk and one of us booted it up into the abyss.

I'm quite interested in the backstage environment at clubs

Does anyone know any interesting stories of managers improving morale at clubs or players not fitting in at one team but fitting in another and just the psychology around it all?

Find what you can about the resurrection of Jason Cummings career and its resurrection under Nick Montgomery at the Mariners before moving to India. Seems to have fitted in there as well.

Any preference? League opponents should be played in identical order like the Bundesliga. Game 1 against Frankfurt and then game 18 also.

The other way leaves a lot of randomness which is the more popular I think.

Personally I prefer the random ordering of league opponents because playing them in identical order means that head coaches can make tactics for the first half of the season which they can just reuse for the return legs, but the other way keeps them on their toes in terms of tactical decisions.

definitely prefer the same order for both halves of the season.
